Root Problem With Go SMS

Every so often, in mid-text, the screen will freeze with the keyboard still up (swiftkeyX)... then I get an FC that isn't specific to me, and I'll post next time it happens. I can sort of navigate out of the texting app, but the keyboard remains until I pull the battery...

Do I need to be wiping and fixing permissions again today?

have you tried another keyboard? I use Go Keyboard and it works great. not convinced this is a GO SMS issue.
 
Are u running the latest 2.3.5 updated roms. My daughters go sms is real buggy after the update. Some times wont open at all.
 
yeah i never had any issue with go sms. i do not use swiftkey x keyboard so not sure on that one. but, you said "again" as far as wiping and fixing permissions. how often do you do this?

what rom are you on now? and what kernel?
 
I'm running CM7 with Tiamat 4.1+ sbc, and I had to do a full wipe with reflash & fix permissions yesterday due to performance issues...

Now that I'm re-reading my post it seems this would be more of a SwiftKeyX issue rather than Go SMS... Anyone out there run into trouble with this keyboard?
 
Did it again twice today with no FC. I'm typing a text and bam, the keyboard just freezes on the screen... have to pull the battery to get rid of it.

tried wiping and fixing permissions... any other ideas.

I've been using Go SmS and SwiftkeyX for so long that I don't want to try any other keyboard:( crap... I guess I'll run the stock keyboard for a few days to test it.
 
I have had issues with CM7 and the Tiamat 4.1 with SBC causing random FCs. If you reflash the ROM, and do not flash the kernel, see if that fixes it, then you will know it is the kernel. I even had my phone just reboot while accessing like the calculator and stuff with that kernel.

Also, you can also try to just uninstall GoSMS and reinstall it.
