PSX4Droid Incredible Thread.

It's not buggy at all, IMO, and well worth bringing my lunch to work with me once (instead of getting subway, mcdonald's, etc)

Honestly, I've played through half of FF VII (On disk 3 now) and have had no issues. FF9 the only issue I had was moving to disk 2 after the blimp cutscene, which was an issue for earlier versions of ePSXe on the PC as well, so no biggy for me. After that it has been running perfectly.

Plus the dev has been really good communicating with me regarding issues (including a fix for the FF9 disk2 switch which he has been working on).

It's still in its early release, but trust me, they put a LOT of time into it.

Ok I consider myself tech savvy, but for the life of me I cannot get any roms to work. I downloaded a few from DoperRom and browsed to where I had saved them, but it says no ROMS are found. I am missing a step somewhere obviously.

Update: Ok so I think I found my problem on one of the roms with the ECM converter. Its converting right now. However I downloaded Army Men 3D and the files within the zip file has the .bin.ecm as well as a ton of .APE files. What do I do with the APE files?

Also I found a a bunch of the BIOS files. Is one better than the other. Currently I have it set to use Scph1001.Bin

What are the file types? Make sure it's a .iso or .php or .eboot. I think .bin will work but not as well.

The buggyness of something isn't a matter of opinion, and without being able to play MOST ps1 games without running into issues that are gamebreakers, it's buggy. I'll echo his question, trial version?

Sure, there's a demo version. Get all the games together you want to try, put them on your SD card with a bios. Buy the game, play it for 23:55 and then if you don't like it, uninstall it to cancel your order.

Didn't know .bin didn't work "as well" I am in the middle of converting a bunch of my .bin games to eboot.pbp and I already noticed I am saving alot more space and the games seem to look and play the same!

I just completed my first full game (Resident Evil Directors Cut) and it was great, what a nice expierience.

Now that I have a .pbp file I am going to try Diablo again and see if I get better performance this time around.

Yes, eboot php files are the best option. Less space. They load a little slower, since compressed, but a few seconds intitial load time is offset by (on average) a 50% reduction in file size. The more music/speech and movies in the game, the less savings, but even those can see over 100mb reduced.

Towards the end of the PSX run, a lot of big-name games were already compressed to fit on a 700mb disk. You will notice those when not much is reduced.

Well still having trouble with Diablo even with the eboot.pbp file.

Game starts and plays through the Church fine but once you get to the second boss on the 3rd floor the game starts chugging and you get graphical artifacts all over the screen.

Once again had to stop playing. :( Has anyone else made it past this point?

I haven't played Diablo, but just like any game where you get stuck. Save, move to PC, play through, save and move back to phone. :)

Yes, it's annoying and inconvenient, but this is an early release and there will be bugs..

I hear ya but I am just going to hold off for now, I think this is happening because of the lighting in this one large room combined with many enemies coming at you at once. I have a feeling this is going to happen many times in the game and will just wait and see if future updates to PSX4Droid fix this.

Oh well off to start RE2!

Is this the place for noob questions?

Based on the above comments, im guessing it is not that simple?

What do i need to know? Where do begin?

You need a bios file that's I guess sketchy or illegal to distribute, but you can find it by googling. I forgot the name, but maybe google playstation bios download.

Most game downloads will probably work out of the box, I'm not sure. I already went through this process of converting to .pbp for my PSP, so I didn't have to this time.

I also am hoping newer updates will fix issues with diablo. I could see myself getting into that game again on the INC.

I'm going to download the emulator and a few roms when i get home. This should do a number on battery. 10 minutes of madden will kill my battery completely. lol. I'll give it a try and see. I want to play tekken and madden

yeah emulating ps1 games really kills the battery bigtime. i got like 40 mins of playtime from a full charge, i have a 1750mah battery

Hi all, I just recently purchased an HTC incredible and have been loving it. Got the psx4droid app and after some monkeying got the roms to run, but on all games its laggy as all hell. I have tried many of the performance tips(disabling sounds, closing background services, disabling sync) but it still seems to have memory issues. Im pretty sure its memory because in games like Diablo it really slows down approaching torches or big hordes of mobs. Ive read that a stock incredible should be able to handle most older roms, but even FF7 is pretty jerky. Its still technically playable, but enjoyable.... mildly at best. Is there anything else I can do or is my last option to root the sucker and overclock?

Just root, you won't regret it in the long run as long as you read up on what you are doing.

Ok could someone help me a little. I have the BIOS file, and PSX4DROID has found it. Now i am having trouble getting my ROMS into a file that is recognized. I downloaded ECM V1.0 but im not exactly sure how to use it. Is this the only program that converts these files? Also, why cant i just download these ROMS in a format that will actually work? Because that would be too easy? LOL
