Root [Q] Can root Evo 4G after being Flashed to boost?

while not a 100 % sure how they flash I would assume it consist of either rooting or doing at very least a temp root. Tell us what your Hboot is?

My Hboot is 2.18.0001, my phone is flashed to boost already (I paid for it) please I would be happy , main reason is for the wifi tether

no, that guide will not work with your hboot 2.18. you will need to use one of these methods found here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...-rooting-gingerbread-2-3-5-dummies-guide.html. it should work with your setup and keep you flashed to boost. i can't guarantee that but i think you should be fine as long as you try the HTCdev method.

Yhea that one, so just follow all the instructions from the HTCDev mothod all the way,but two things I don't get steps2,&3 Can u explain more of them, what is the step 2 How to get Recovery? how to install amon ra 2.3 recovery / how to install amon ra2.3 with android flasher,( which one i choose ) And step 3 flash the su file or flash a rom, ( stay on stock or flash a rom, which one )( cause if I flash a custom rom it will screw up the boost flash right?) is this really needed
you need to do both steps if you want to be fully rooted. step 2 is needed because you will need a recovery to flash the su zip file. it is not a rom so you should be ok. the su file is needed so that you can use root only apps like the wireless tethering app.

Ok I'm ready to root my phone all I need is some one to help me out after I do the root on my phone just in case my flashed boost phone won't work ,some one to help out to reflash it to boost ( just I case something go's wrong, hopefully nothing go's wrong ) and if so I do not own or know someone with a xp computer

What a drag it is getting old.

Ok I'm rooted by I can't figure how to wifi tether work, I can't make the wifi tether work at all please help I'm in the stock rom( it is root it )
ok you can either flash a custom rom that has the sprint hotspot hacked or you can use the wireless wifi tethering app found in this thread:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...net-tethering-w-evo-4g-3g-wireless-wired.html.

and can you be more specific as to what is going on when you try to tether? also what are you using to tether?
