i just purchased a tablet, nothing fancy, biglots special,i just wanted to start of on a basic one,now im interested in rooting it,but cant find a root for it,if anybody can be nice enough and help lead me on the right path of doing it,id appriciate very much,i was in the lg esteem forum helping with some noobbs but im one myself, just dont know where to begin, anybody,or any suggestions,im up for it.sorry so long and thank you for your time!!!!! :)

You can't root every make and model (unless you can figure out how to crack it yourself). The more popular devices tend to get rooted and have custom ROMs developed for them. The less popular devices tend not to ever get rooted or have custom ROMs developed for them.

Search the web for "how to root" your make and model. If you don't find a method then it probably doesn't exist.

What type of tablet do you have?

Can't root a nameless tab :p

i have the nextbook 7p12g model #nxoo7sd46 serial no yfg12???????
ps ive tried different roots but know have worked, would you trade it for a amazon kindle fire no hd and i think its a 8 or 16 gig for $145,thinkk- this nextbook is lost cause, looking into a nexus 7 32gb ty ;)

Google turns up no such model. Personally, I would only buy an Android device that has a proven root method and a large custom-ROM development community. Not sure what that is in the tablet realm since I have no interest in tablets.

The tablet market is full of really really cheap tablets that never get off the ground development wise.

The nexus line is really about as cheap as you should go (it also happens to be one of the best tablets around). Anything cheaper and it turns into you get what you pay for.
