Root Question related to SDcard contents

Question for the Jedi Masters around here...

Since i'm going to have to SBF back to stock to gain root on Ginger i thought it might be a good time to clean up the contents of my SD card...

obviously i will back up my sd card prior to doing this, but if i totally format the SDcard and wipe it clean, is there anything that is REQUIRED for me to put back on it for it to work in RSDLite??...can i format the SD card and then plug the phone in to SBF and let RSDLite take care of the rest is basically what im asking?

obviously once all is said and done i will be putting my music, pictures, texts, ROM backups, Titanium Backup files and such back on the card...

but i've got folders and such on there from programs that are no longer installed and such and just figured since im going to be going at this completely fresh from an OS standpoint, i might go all the way fresh...

To the best of my knowledge the answer is no. there are no files required on the sd for rsd.

coming from a Kentucky fan, ill take that with a dump truck full of salt :p

But that is what i figured, as long as nobody tells me otherwise i will probably wipe the SDcard clean, SBF w/RSD, put the files i want back on (pictures, music, texts, etc...) and then get to work on rooting Ginger (whatever the instructions for that might be...)

Flashing an SBF is not dependent on what is on your SD card. You will be formating it from your phone correct?

sure i can format it from there...i just basically want to make sure that that formatting the sd card won't remove anything necessary for operation...

would you recommend formatting the SD before or after the SBF?

I had to sbf and had a empty sd didn't format just general deleting party. Should be fine either way you go

A blank SD card will be fine for a stock install. Any apps that need something will create the files.

If you have installed applications with data stored on the SD card, of course, that will be gone. But the phone isn't going to choke and die. RSDlite isn't even going to notice - it does nothing whatsoever to the /sdcard partition. Just replaces the /system directory, kernel, radio, etc.

this is a good question OP. I too have a bunch of clutter on my SD but i think instead of formatting and all that jazz i'm just going to have the delete party like someone above mentioned.
