Root Questions about after rooting

Hello everybody,

I am new to these forums and I have just rooted my lg optimus v with gingerbreak v1.2 and I have some questions. It would be much appreciated for any help anyone can provide.

First what apps should I install? I already have titanium backup and rom manager

Also, how do I get custom roms on my lg optimus v?

Lastly, how long does titanium backup take to delete something? it has been uninstalling scavenger app for close to 15 min.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Custom ROMs are installed via your recovery. Each ROM's thread should have the instructions for installation in the first post.

I have Titanium Backup take forever when I restore Google Music, I usually end up rebooting after it has been going for 30 minutes or so.

In order for us to help you a little better, how about telling us what you'd like to accomplish/do with your device?

Anything specific? Just want to see what's 'cool'? Looking for a bit of discovery? :D

I just want to have my phone run faster and install a better version of android os. I want to put 2.3 on it but I have no idea

Have you ever installed custom roms before? What is your 'skill level' or experience with these sort of things?

I have never installed one before, but if you explained it to me I would be able to. I don't how to get the rom on the sd card and which rom should i use?

Well, it all depends on your wants/needs really. Do you feel comfortable diving right in? Or would you like to learn about it a little more first?
