Root Radio Update Help?

I've heard many reports of people getting better call quality from the update and sadly, I also heard of some bricked V's.
I'd like to get the update but does my V have the neccesary items to update?
ROM: Jerry's BACKside IHO
Recovery: The latest Xionia recovery (correct me if I'm wrong with the spelling )

The Xionia recovery I'm using is for the NovaTek screen.

Xionia, IHO and Bobzhome recoveries will flash the update just fine.

The update that's being discussed is a radio image that was pulled from the VM update that is causing members who install it to lose root permanently.
The radio image update cannot be installed with the New Touch Screen Recovery as it will brick the phone. If you have the VM670NH recovery (Bob Zohme modified ClockworkMod recovery) or the Xionia recovery, then it will work every time.
The updated radio image that was pulled from the VM update by Leslie Ann might make your signal stronger. Key word is Might. There is a download link to her thread with install instructions found here http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-all-things-root/517781-radio-patch-new-update.html

Don't worry, you can do the update tonite, and get root right back.

Together with jcase from xda, we have found and exploit that allows us to root the security update, even after you have flashed it. I will have complete instructions and links to files posted this evening.

Just be sure you don't use the touch-recovery or multirom-recovery when doing anything involving this update!
