Radioshack Preorder - Details!!!

I'm paying out of contract. I've saved though and I will have well over 450 by the time I sell my hero to get a case and car dock :)
 
the reason why I said that was bc if there are many pre orders you will be waiting on line with others only to find out bb doesn't do the accessory credit bc it's not in there systems

I'm still not following you. There aren't going to be any lines at Best Buy at all. Once you've pre-ordered at Best Buy, you either will have been given a specific appointment time to pick up the phone and/or will get a call to set up an appointment time. No line. Once you have the appointment, you go to best buy, go to the mobile counter, they take out the phone package, punch up the numbers in the computer, activate your phone and you're done! And I'm sure there'll even be time, while the BB advocate is punching up the order, for people to show them the printout of the Radio Shack pre-order offer.

So, I still have my original question lingering. What accessories will they actually have at Radio Shack? Is there going to be any accessories that are actually worth buying? I'd imagine, it's a marketing gimic by Radio Shack to sell stuff that they come up with that'll turn an additional profit for them.

No way, no how. If Sprint were going to allow an earlier launch, it would only be at corporate stores. Now, an enterprising BB or RS manager might agree to open the store at 12:01 since there is no restriction on the TIME, but don't hold your breath.
 
Well that settles it then. Getting my EVO at RS. Now I just gotta figure out what to get with the gift card I got from BB for my pre-order there.

yup, from what I've gathered from various posters, if you want to get an evo for 449 off contract hopefully on release day, you're going to have to go bright and early to the sprint store, and hopefully they'll sell it to you. Preorders for the 449 price are nonexistent so far

Can u imagine some prospective evo buyer that has a red face from too much Jim Beam walking into a sprint store and making an ass out of himself?!! LOL:D
 
way ahead of you. i'm designing an EVO-rita that I will be chugging with anyone else who shows up while sitting in a lawn chair in my wifebeater outside the sprint store. I'll still be able to set the mofo up faster than the sprint tech can and be on my way to an afternoon hangover.

I was pretty damn tipsy when I got in line at the Sprint Store about 6:30am on Saturday, June 6th for the Palm Pre! Sprint stores opened two hours early (8am instead of 10am) haha I had gone out drinkin' till the bars closed at 2:30 and then went home with some friends...still drinkin' until 6am. I even told the Sprint employee about it...lol she thought it was great. Oh, the ways to impress peeps in a college town ;)
 
i just got back from placing a pre-order at both bb and rs. hedging my bets in case somebody gets it earlier, and i can use either gift card for something else.
 
Tried to pre-order from Radio Shack. Eligible for upgrade on 1 June, their pre-order sale ends 31 May. Couldn't pre-order. Any suggestions?

really? that doesn't sound right. try again (with a different person) and try sprint. see if they'll up your date a week or two. tell them the problem you're having.

I wouldn't think it would matter what your eligible date is. Just say you want to pre-order and pay full price. Phone isn't coming out until June 4th. So when you go to pick it up, you will be eligible.
 
They showed me an "appointment form" at the RS I bought at that had fields to schedule an appointment for Friday and Saturday so I would really doubt that they'll have an early release. The clerk said he would call me to fill out my time on the form when it got close to release.

Contact Sprint - they are willing and able to move your eligibility date but only by a 14 day margin. Their systems prevent them from doing anything more than that, but that's more than adequate for your needs. Explain the situation and they should be able to assist.
 
I just pre-ordered with RS with a June 1 upgrade date and had no problems. Since I don't actually get the phone until June 4 when at that time it is added to my sprint account there is no issue. I would say go to a different RS.
