BTW there's often a warning notice in McDonald's "Be careful of the slippery".

see, i knew you would find some motivation and inspiration :D

I occasionally have to make a 'road-trip' for work-- I have to get my physical self to a remote location in order to fix an airplane or at least make it airworthy enough to safely fly to a regular maintenance base for a more permanent repair.

I usually don't mind this, and it is a very rare occasion when I turn down a shot at a road-trip.

This Sunday past, I went on such a road-trip. To push in a circuit breaker.

I made eight hours in overtime pay.

ok...I'll be flying to Vegas....stop scaring me!!! at least make it air worthy?/:eek:
;)

When I make temporary repair like that, it's to make it safe enough for an aircrew to 'ferry fly' the plane to the nearest maintenance base. That's usually only two or three people.

Occasionally, a mechanic (me) will fly along-- sometimes that's the best way to get home.

When I say safe, that is to mean legally safe-- FAA requires a certain minimum of equipment working for a commercial plane to fly, much of it has little or nothing to do with actually keeping the plane in the air and flying.

I am an avionics tech, so it's all electronic.

I assure you, huh, if you are flying on my airline, you will get there in one piece.
