Random Thought Thread

I was in New Jersey last week for the 2014 Special Olympics national games. My sister took home a few gold and silver medals in her swimming events along with a 5th place ribbon. My girlfriend took the bronze medal in basketball. I was able to watch my sister swim and see my girlfriend play basketball. I was only able to see my girlfriend play once. The other times, I had to use Skype. I barely got to see her the whole week.

Wow, those Olympics sure were special :) That much victory in one family! Awesome :D:thumbup: Congrats!
 
We have a new neighbor! I've only seen a few of these birds in the flesh. Magnificent creatures indeed!

What the heck is that thing. I'm in Mass and I've never seen one. I showed it to my wife and she said hew work building was covered the other day.
 
Random thought of the day for me:

What if, at the age of 21, every person is administered an intelligence test, and all of their social media is examined. We then sort the people who move on to participate in society and those who are placed into forced labor?

Since I hardly ever use my facebook account..and when I DO occasionally login in my feed is just people spouting off on political crap and childish high school games and stupid updates that nobody cares about...or trying to get attention by braging about your stupid stupidness or your stupid spawns of stupidness. its all just same old same old...reason why I stopped face book in the first place!!! only its only getting worse


so.....I have decided to put my account to good use and become the most annoying face book poster EVERrrrrrrrrrr echo echo echo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(or at least until I get bored):rolleyes:

and while we are on the subject of social media...Does anyone else get..emails kind of stalking like? but not scary stalky:rolleyes: ...just weird I guess..

A Luna moth. I've seen plenty of the caterpillars around, they're just tough to find after hatching. The bricks in my picture are about 2.75 inches top to bottom, so in that perspective it is a pretty good size moth, but not the biggest one I've seen.

@ Unforgiven

The only Luna moths I've ever seen were way up in the white mountains. I have lived in eastern MA on and off for years and have never seen one of them around here, mostly Monarch butterflies, Tent and Gypsy moths.

It's a currency. Like all non precious metal backed currency it's value is derived solely from the faith placed in it by the people that are exchanging it for another currency or purchasing milk with it. If the value is placed at zero, it's worthless. If the value is $500 then it is worth $500 USD, and there is an exchange rate. If everyone in the world decided tomorrow that they didn't think the US dollar was worth anything, then it wouldn't be worth anything. It wouldn't matter if you had 1,000,000 dollar bills, you wouldn't be able to get a gallon of milk with it. That's the economic truth of any paper currency in the world.
 
I'm getting it now. Right now I'm mining litecoin with my GPU but because I have Nvidia it's extremely slow. Need to get a better AMD card.

Maybe in a few weeks.

I want to learn more about this. I think this may be the future of currency. I can't even remember the last time I spent cash. Though I do carry twenty five dollars just in case.
 
I feel lucky that I don't... the only thing I know about Pharrel is that he wears a funny hat.

I really should do more writing...
