At the GMU Basketball Preseason Pep Rally and just heard one of the Strangest Mash Ups of Lady Gaga's Just Dance and Journey's Don't Stop Believing... And...Yes...it sounded just as bad as you might imagine! [emoji19]

I just checked my batteries and the Duracell are supposedly good for 10 years and they have a "best by" date of 2025 on the package, but nothing on the battery itself. I also have some Energizers which say good for 7 years, but they only have a lot number on the package. On the battery is stamped 0515 which I assume means it was made in May 2015 so these should be good until 2022.

This one says use by DEC 2010.

Man that Nexus 6 takes a big picture. The thumbnail is the same as full size on my other devices and I had already reduced it. 3088 x 4160 I could decorate a wall with that.

Sorry, my wife says I'm not supposed to be discussing your drawers. :p

Ever sit with "your drawers" full of batteries, and a multimeter, try to sort the wheat from the chaff?

A few things always strike me:
1) Some brands really do seem to be better than others; One can be five years older than another, but still holding a shelf charge better than a similar cell of another make. Worth the extra money?, can't say...but interesting.

2) No load voltage "new" usually around 1.6V, "tired" around 1.2 to 1.3V, and even "dead" batteries usually show .1 to .2 V.

So how come you can often find one odd ball cell that will show NEGATIVE .1 to .2 Volts? How does the chemistry allow for the occasional "zombie battery" to go beyond dead, into the realm of the undead.......... just sitting in my drawers?

Mate there will be no paying involved on my part. I don't hand over money to extortionists.
Well the Police and Public Security are the parking "extortionists" in China. No private companies doing it, unlike the UK. I don't wish to find out the due process for unpaid fines here. Was for a friend actually, fine was equivalent of about £15.

^^^^^^
That's the spirit.
Sentiment reminds me.....Working on distant memory, trust none of it:
Vaguely remember anecdote of Pete Rose:
Pete on defense in top of first, they go down (like) 6 to nothing after half inning.
Third out, change sides; Pete trots toward the dugout, past his opponent taking his position on the field; Looks him in the eye, gives him a wink, and says:
"This is gonna' be one helluva' game, get ready!!!"

C'mon, when did "Charlie Hustle" not belong in the HOF?

Maybe Clayton Kershaw will fill the role that Snotrocket (Bumgarner) did last year.

He certainly did yesterday. I heard on the radio that this was the first time the Cubs have been shut out at home in a playoff game since 1907! But then again, they won the world series that year...

"In the long history of the Cubs, they have only lost a 1-0 game in a playoff game on two occasions. The pitcher who beat the Cubs on that fateful day during the 1918 World Series against the Boston Red Sox? None other than immortal Hall of Famer Babe Ruth.

The game was also historic because it marked the first time that the Cubs have lost a 1-0 postseason game at Wrigley Field. The Cubs were the home team for that 1918 showdown with the Red Sox, but during those days the Cubs didn’t play playoff games at the Friendly Confines. Instead, they played that game against Boston at the original Comiskey Park."
