This house has 10+ skylights in it.

They ripped the entire roof off this morning, house needs all new.

It's all tarped now, because it may sprinkle tonight.

All they did, is cover the skylights, "throttle back" the extra light that usually comes in.

I didn't realize it, but I'm living in a dang cave; Even at noon, where is my miner's hat?

The bigger question is why do they choose us as friends?

A dog or cat doesn't judge you, bad mouth you, get jealous of you, act unreasonably, or harbour grudges. He/she is just loyal, and is happy to be with you. Why wouldn't we choose animals to be friends?

Because they cost a lot and they have a lot of taking care of and cleaning after once you get them. It's never ending... I'd much rather have a child of my own before I raise a dog for 7-10 years. Just my piece of my mind not that I have anything against dogs or cats, I love all animals but I'd rather have my own child and raise him. Just my 2 cents.

Because 98% of my friends don't poop on my living-room carpet...

And I disagree with one point: cats and dogs can and do hold grudges.

I agree with the Above Posters in certain ways, but overall it's much different and in all honesty it depends on the person and his/her free time. I guess each person is different and of course would rather have something else. Not all of us think the same or as the same so it's cool to see how you guys react to the post... it can show just how different each individual can be. :)

My dogs got mad at me once for moving to a new apartment without consulting them.

Seriously. The one little bitch waited until I was on the phone (this is back when phones had cords...), looked me straight in the eye and squatted. Of course, she made sure to be just out of kicking range.

Another time, my second dog would come to greet me when I came home, and this one time I was in a real hurry, had to go straight to the bathroom; having spent most of the day on the toilet at work, and I kind of blew her off and maybe told her I wasn't in the mood, and she walked away, and went to the kitchen and proceeded to remove every bit of garbage out of the trashcan and strategically arrange in throughout the house.

Well they're not mutually exclusive ;)
But I think you underestimate how much it costs to raise a child these days. They're a potential lifetime financial drain. :D

I'll take the pets. I prefer cats and ferrets. One kid was enough.

I enjoyed the extreme pleasure of raising four children. And through the years we enjoyed many pets/furry and feathered as additional family. I now have two dogs and three wild kitties. The kittens are pretty skittish but getting friendlier every day. Both children and pets have many upsides as well as downsides. If a person is lucky, they get to enjoy both as family sometime in their life.

So anyone carving pumpkins this year? I'm going out this weekend to grab a couple gourds or are they squash? I think they are gourds, so I am sticking with that, yea gourds.

I did a search and it does not look too much like there's a lot of interest here in the community but thought I'd ask and see if anyone was because I'd love to start a thread for our own carvings as well as some of the simply AWESOME stuff that has been done over the past few years, people are so creative!

So anyone interested in a Super Spooky Halloween Inspired Jack-O-Lantern thread?
