RE: Bob
AAAhrrrrrrghhhhh!!!!!!!
Where to even start?
A man naked on stage, with a guitar in his hands, and a harmonica clenched in his teeth............
The lyrics are the sort of thing that may not be fully appreciated for a dozen generations to come; And we are all fortunate enough to be bearing witness to the unusual event of a
true genius actually being appreciated in his own time. Get on board, say you were there when the Nobel prize was delivered,
and you understood why.
The many occasions when his voice was as ****ed up as can possibly be,
do make for the best memories; They are the thing of cheap punchlines.......But they are
vastly outweighed by the occasions when that voice was crystal clear.......or at
worst,
very damaged, but still used to spectacular effect, in
spite of the handicap.
An enormous body of work that future generations of religious scholars may spend entire lifetimes studying, and still never fully unpack; Anyone who goes for the cheap laugh, hasn't seen the first 1% of the treasure which has been laid out before them, free of charge.
And I say that as someone who has spent 40 years studying it thoroughly enough to be comfortable saying......
I only understand the first 2% of it; And that's definitely enough to call it true genius.
Seriously, if you are not sold already, look again; You are missing out on something very,
very important, hanging right in front of you.
"And if my thought dreams could be seen.....They'd probably put my head in a guillotine; But it's alright, Ma........................... It's life, and life only."
