Which would have been nice to know before I went out and spent $1800 on a new stove because the old one sucks at boiling water...
Okay, so Dngrswife wanted an oven with accurate temp settings and top broiler, so we would have bought it anyway, but still... So many meals have been delayed while we've waited for the water to boil... (even starting the pasta water first, then making the sauce)
It is true.
The other option is to cook pasta the night before - it keeps in the fridge.
We have a small hot water heater under the sink kept at a higher temp than the big water heater, plus water boils here at 200°.
I got a new stove since oven temp was off, and I bake. Quite a bit less $ since I don't broil. Have never figured out how to do it on an electric stove. Was raised with gas stoves. Probably makes a mess somewhere. I don't like cleaning messes, even if the oven is a self clean.
