Random Thought Thread

  • As soon as I take a picture on my phone, it's on my PC.
  • When my phone is charging at night, it goes quiet. When I unplug it, it goes back to vibrate.
  • If I download a torrent on my phone, it instantly starts downloading on my PC at home.
  • I modified an application's name, icon and notification icon: I now have a "custom" app that pushes my University emails to my phone (with style!)
  • I Swype.
  • My phone vibrates once every 2 minutes when I have a missed call or SMS.
  • I have a nice live wallpaper that runs smoothly, and widgets.
  • I can theme my OS however I want (and I am able to do so!)
  • I can play games like Angry birds.
  • The Opera Mobile browser is awesome.
  • The Market allows me to browse and install apps from my PC.
  • I can push websites or copy/paste text from PC to my phone, using Chrome to Phone.
  • I have GPS, with online and offline maps (even offline indications!)

All that for a $50 dollars phone, brand new, without contract. Best purchase ever. I like Android. Why shouldn't anyone?

Is there anything greater than the Rat Pack? I can't think of anything better than The Boys' Night Out.

Also that carrier iq stuff is pretty damn upsetting. wiretapping at an all time high! ;)

@blkbeltkid: Hope you're feeling better!

A problem of mine:
I invent complex rules of logic and behavior and expect others to follow them and not question them. >.>

EX: it is not okay to use your phone on the stairs, you could drop it and it would bounce all the way to the bottom of the stairs with little pieces of plastic, glass and electronic debris. It's a 'rule', but the sole exception is if you are talking on the phone and the you must stop to get the phone out of your pocket (again, to not drop it). I'm wondering if all these rules will eventually be the down fall of me.../

When I die, I'm not going to have flowers all over my grave. I'm going to have piles of android powered devices at my grave :)

Death is a very heavy topic for the random thread, but perhaps we are just looking at it wrong.

But maybe we are not. I don't know. I can only remember a few quotes on death (which I don't have verbatim).

1. The metaphor was made that death is a canyon from life, but it actually is simply a single step.

2. Does it hurt do die? Yes, but it hurts more to live.

Obviously different authors giving different views.
1. Tuesday's with Maury.
2. Survivor (Chuck Palahniuk).

Don't you love that feeling you get when you get a test back, the teacher is mad at everyone for doing really bad on it but you made a perfect score.... :)

There's a name for people like you, "Curve Killers". And this is how they're typically dealt with...... :p

My random thought is....if you live in Texas and your heat goes out, there should be no real sense of urgency to get it fixed.

A few days ago the weatherman said that a cold front was coming. On Friday morning my heater went out so today I was running around trying to fix it (turns out some wires got too hot and melted). I tied the wires back together and for the life of me could not find my electrical tape. So I bundle myself up ready to go to Lowes to pick up some supplies only to find that it's in the MID 70s outside AND it's raining. So much for the "Texas cold front". But at least now my heater is working because now they're insisting that it's going to SNOW on Monday.....

Well that's your problem. You know the whole meteorology career is a safety net for failed prophets! ;) They are always wrong. And then they claim (after the fact mind you) that they *knew* the weather would be a certain way... pssssh. *rolls eyes*
