Thing is, it only takes half a bottle of that stuff and I'm done. Some of this liquor can be upto 70% alcohol, and only costs equivalent of $1.50 USD a bottle. BTW it also makes a great cleaning liquid I've found...

The Inner Mongolian and Beijing varieties are usually OK. Now the stuff they drink in Hubei Province...smells just like kerosene or jet fuel.

NOW, Everclear on the other hand (at least real Everclear... some states only allow a max of 151 proof. My home state being one of them) is 190 proof (95% alcohol by volume). THAT doesn't take more than a shot or two to be effective. It actually says right on the bottle "not for human consumption unless mixed with a non-alcoholic beverage."

THAT doesn't take more than a shot or two to be effective. It actually says right on the bottle "not for human consumption unless mixed with a non-alcoholic beverage."

I'm not surprised, almost pure ethanol. I don't think you really would want to drink that neat. Run your dragster on it though. :thumbup:

The local firewater is very cheap and widely available. Although some of the premium and aged stuff can be expensive. On the other hand other strong liquors, like whisky or vodka, can be very expensive and only available in larger stores. Now Chinese beer is usually quite weak and tasteless (just like Budweiser LOL). You drink a lot of it, go to the WC a lot, get a hangover, but never get particularly drunk.

If there is one thing I will say is your son has the most wonderful mother in the world / you mysticalspiral.

Once again my mother lost it with me for God knows what so at 12 at night I just took my keys with just my cell phone and head phones and left.

I walked for many hours as dangerous as hell in SA at night here.

We hear gun shots occasionally - I still did not give a damn about what I was doing - I would rather be out alone here than be alone at that house with people shouting at me a lot.

I am alone at that house any way (because they don't respect me) so I thought it would be much nicer to be alone with no one shouting at me.

It was pitch dark.

I walked to the ocean and contemplated drowning myself.

I wanted nothing to do with this world.

This was about 2 years ago.

No one called me.

No one cared.

They were not worried.

They didn't give a shit.

And when I finally changed my mind about dorwning myself in the Cape's freezing cold water and walked back for hours again to that house my family crapped all over me AGAIN.

My father said "the shit for you has just begun."

Screaming and shouting once again when I am trying so hard to talk to them.

Not fair - but then again nothing is.

I've had really amazing Sake a time or 2. From what I can remember at least.

I am more of a vodka drinker though. I like to drink some Bombay Sapphire in lemonade occasionally.

2) It tastes also.... like POO.
3) It is uselessly expensive and why on EARTH would anyone want to buy something that is more expensive BUT it also burns you and tastes like super crap????

Also when I did get drunk once or twice in life I think I have only been drunk 3 times max when I tried really hard to say sorry to my taste buds because it tastes like super crap.

I also realised I really really really liked the feeling and I could see a problem arising from alcohol so I then realised to stay far away from it.

I can see I am "weaker" to the influence of alcohol so I realised I need to stay away from it.

It is great to have a family - even if it is not by "blood".

Once upon a time before I knew what a "liquor" chocolate was I wasted like R20 rands (

) on a loser HORRIBLE tasting orange chocolate (LIQUOR! )!

It was my own dang fault for thinking this thing would taste great!

But never again!

I HATED that "lindt liqour" it was by Lindt but it tasted TERRIBLE!

It was burning me and I eventually stopped after the third piece realizing I really fracking hate this excuse for a chocolate.

AFAIK the original exclusive is baijiu, but also make a lot of lager beer and wine, which has probably been in China for around 100-150 years. Pretty much anything else is imported and quite expensive. Probably because who the hell wants made in China whisky, bourbon or vodka?

There's actually a big difference between sake and baijiu. Baijiu is a distilled liquor usually made from sorghum or wheat, whilst sake is a fermented rice wine. TBH I've never come across sake in China.

I've had really amazing Sake a time or 2. From what I can remember at least.

One of my students gave me Toblerone last week, a milk chocolate one.

BTW Toblerone is one of the very few chocolate brands that been consistently successful in China, along with Ferrero Rocher. Really because most Chinese just don't eat much chocolate, and before the early 80s there was no chocolate in the PRC. Same for coffee as well.

Watch that stuff! I had a couple of blackouts on Everclear back during my college days. Friends would tell me all the stuff I did last night and I didn't remember a thing.

I had a bad experience on absinth 10yrs ago down in england. I can handle my drink but i swear i thought i was in a video game. I ended up on my then girlfriend's mum's roof throwing roof slates at neighbours and then the police. When i came down it took 6 police to restrain me. Im glad uk police didnt have tazers back then lol.
Bad times man. Bad times. English police arent very friendly to a drunken Scotsman alone in a cell and broken ribs hurt for months. Lesson learnt

Stinky there is actually some vodkas that taste like water believe it or not! (normally potato, and distilled a high amount of times)

The flavor less ones are usually made this way for several reasons.

1. Smoother
2. Normally considered higher quality
3. It is easy to add flavorful things, such as a cinnamon stick, a bag with a pumpkin spice in it, and a vanilla bean cut in half, to create a nice flavored alcoholic drink for the Fall seasons and it Christmas.

But yeah there are some absolute garbage of alcohol out there. (Mad Dog 20/20 immediately comes to mind)

Mind you, your goal shouldn't be to get plastered. Get a nice buzz, and relax. That's what your actually suppose to do while drinking.

You get the edge off from life in general, get to relax, and save money because your not drinking half the bottle in a week. :thumbup:
