Random Thought Thread

I've found perpetual silence and random head nodding seem to placate my significant other during her tirades. This I find acceptable because its just enough of a passive reaction. It's neither an out right admission that she's correct nor is it so little to incite further fury.

I just ask repeatedly, "What's the question?"

Eventually one appears (and only one - the answer to the each confirmation is, "Is that the question?" until the answer is yes) or I'm told that there isn't one.

At this point, regardless of which way it went, I agree that I was happy to help and to let me know if there are any other questions.

It's probably worth noting that WifelyMon is very patient. :D

I tried that before.. Lmfao. Except in my case where she was like "STOP PACIFYING ME!!"
... ...what was I SUPPOSED to do?!
Hahah.. It's OK tho, I eventually just made her a problem of the past. I learned something in that process - if you're intelligent (male or female): don't marry someone with an extremely low education level or someone much higher than yours as it'll cause reasons to regret it. [emoji12]

Even though I don't have a spouse of my own, I do have a tendency to nod in silence to people who talk too much, for the sake of politeness. If there's no sign of the one-sided conversation ending, I'll usually pretend to make a call on my phone. Or put on my headphones.

"Dear I'm not trying to pacify you...I'm listening, nodding in acknowledgement until you've finished. That way I, should your musings not work out their own acceptable conclusion can offer you an intelligent and informed response."
