I readily admit I have some whacked out priorities in life.......And I like Pete Rose a great deal.
But the frustrated television director in me has to ask the question:

Yeh, had to look it up, I just call them bench seats.
The students are singing it this week, and it helps if their teacher knows what the lyrics mean.

I always had an uncanny fear of being stuck inside the gymnasium bleachers and getting folded up while I was still inside.

We don't really have that style of seating around small sports fields.
I suppose we'd call them 'stands', or terraces, as you find in soccer stadiums. They're called that because people used to stand up to watch the game, however these days stadiums are all seated.
I'm sure stands and terracing were made illegal in UK stadiums following the Hillsborough disaster in 1989.

Probably why don't see them there now, it's all proper seating these days.

Good info & funny article. The "funny" part is where it keeps calling Soccer "Football". [emoji23] I drive a car but I don't call it a "Truck". It always cracks me up, no hate tho.

Today is not a great day.
My nephew is sick. I work from home. My sister will drop him off in a bit. I am not the local sick ward. Grrrr

Could only take two nights of my addled condition in the mayhem of Dodger Stadium. They lost one, won one, nothing really changed... except that that was the ballgame I think I'll ever go to.
Some of the students at Jinan Foreign Language School, where I teach, tend to use "soccer" and "football" to mean the same thing.
