What really grinds my gears is the use of the word "brick" with regard to mobile devices. If the device can be unbricked, it was never bricked in the first place.

Dripping gasoline on your cars paint after fueling.
No matter how careful I am when I pull the nozzle out, it happens:banghead:
Trivial, I know.
Finding 150 year old mine shafts that arent shown on any geological surveys, whilst excavating for a road project. Now I've got a 4' diameter mine shaft exposed with at least 2' of water in it. WTH am I supposed to do with an uncharted mine shaft under a roadway? What am I supposed to do with the thousands of gallons of mine water?
I can haz a beer...or two...
You mean undocumented landmarks are a problem? I have deeds dealing with land delimited by a shared outhouse that probably rotted away in 1750. Never mind the one's about the corner of the lot that is a pile of stones known by the heirs of some dude that has been dead for 200 years.
I deal with stuff that predates not only the USA, but goes back to the Massachusetts Bay Colony. The Town Charter was from some Earl in England, is rumored to be held in some library in New York. We had to do an eminent domain on a town owned parcel to create a deed book and page in order to sell a town owned parcel as we could not trace back to the 1600's for the original land grant.
1600s, eh? How quaint
My brother's last house was 400 years old .. when Shakespeare was born. His bedroom door (to be fair, it looked like a garden gate that was well past it's sell by date) had been dated as over 1,000 years old*
The village I live in was already long established when William the Conquerer had the survey of his new realm taken and the details written in the Domesday book in 1086.
* he also swore it had magnetic floor. A special sort of magnetism that worked on cotton: as soon as any girl walked in, her knickers hit the floor
Living in a country that was only settled/invaded by westerners two hundred and thirty years ago, the idea of your culture's local history going back that far is sort of mind boggling. I love watching 'Time Team' and programs of that ilk (well, I did when I was into watching the idiot box) and still have many of the programs stored on HDD for watching occasionally.
I hate the fact that these days houses don't seem to be built to last
The current trend in Sydney is to buy, bulldoze and build again. They're putting up 'Mcmansions', two storey monstrosities that take up most of the building block. Horrible.
We used to spend a lot of time out in the yard as children. Today's kids don't seem to want to play outside much, or their parents don't encourage them to...
People making support requests in the Introductions forum. I refuse to even say hello to them.
I've since seen articles that everyone has too much of their own space and it's fracturing families
That trend of large houses will die out in a couple of years - got started here as everyone "wanted" a home theater with the largest TV screen they could find.
BTW - don't even mention that the huge TV room would work as a craft room. I sew and could use the space. I have friends that play with electronic components or do models, and they could use the space. The answer you get is you are supposed to only use the space for a home theater as the designer intended.
I've since seen articles that everyone has too much of their own space and it's fracturing families. Once stuff like this turns up, change is at least on the minds of some of the idiots.
Our house was built in the mid 70s. That designer had his head you-know-where, and nothing has changed since.
I have 8 people living in a 3BR 2BA 1400sq house... it is a bit too cozy for my liking.
Maybe I didn't make it so clear in my rant but ..I was ranting about my birthday
coming up.. It's not till Wednesday...However, I will happily and gratefully accept the Birthday wishes..Thank you very Much!!
PS..I'm feeling better about it now too..Think it's just especially hard for me for certain reasons and I hissy fit and get scared about it sometimes but..I realize that It's who you are on the inside that counts and I have a lot to be grateful for and to look forward to and...I won't babble on
oh yeah...plus.. also I got carded for my ID at dinner when I was with friends for a " girls night out" Saturday night...
..and then later .. a much younger bartender tried to hit on me ..so...
anyway..
Thank you for the birthday luv
It probably has been said, but people are obviously not listening:
Then is not than, and than is not then!
I'd rather have cuddles then make love...
Well, April 11th was my 32nd Birthday. My girl forgot my B-day. Isn't historically the man who forgets? We have been together almost 2 years now and she has never got me even a Christmas or birthday present, but I haven't missed 1 of either for her. The first birthday and Christmas I can understand cause she wasn't working and had no $$. Hmmmmm..........
Not even a cake or made me breakfast (Which I consider as a present) She can't live without me, but at the same time doesn't appreciate either. I guess that's what I get for dating a woman who is 8 years younger. Tee hee
