Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Work. You complain when I get overtime but you insist on calling me because you refuse to learn how to problem solve on your own. If you expect me to answer my personal phone, start paying me for my time and reimbursing my cell phone bill.

^^ agreed! You should be payed an alllowance for being "on call" the same as some members of the emergency services do for having to stay sober and there always being the worry that youll get called :thumbup:

You should tell them just that.

My boss is pretty good about overtime, and I have told him (and his boss ) that I will take longer to return to base if I am sent on a BS road trip... if I have to do someone else's work for them, then someone will pay for it.

If they don't like it, then they had better find a dumber monkey to do it.

With all due respect it's very easy to say that to someone about work, but it's not always easy to do.
One of the things that has got me down regarding my job is my managers attitude and behaviour. When you go above and beyond, burn yourself into the ground and yet nothing is ever good enough, one day she made me feel like the best employer she has ever has, and the next day making me feel like a piece of diet.
I have been given a promotion 3 months ago with the promise of a rise, and yesterday as I handed in my notice, I was handed my wage slip and I STILL hasn't of the rise. So I've been doing all the extra work for no extra pay, but being made to feel like dirt at times as the manager didn't seem to approve how things were done, yet her promise of coming in to show me exactly how she wanted it never materialised. Long stupid hours that am never going to see pay or time off for. Mountains of work taken home at night and weekend.
But yesterday when she asked my reason for notice, I didn't me toon anything about it, I just literally said about the new job.
The sad thing is, you make yourself a mug you go above and beyond and they expect it, they don't thank you for it, they just pile on more and more and never ever appreciate it, but you eventually meltdown and can't take anymore, and they are gutted cos that's when they realise how good a worker you are, and then they loose you, it's too late.

Haha and what OILS my gears as opposed to grinding them is auto correct on the iPad!!! Totally amuses me. What I was trying to say instead of "I didn't me toon anything about it" is anyone's guess but it makes me laugh. I've laughed my socks off at times over things I've typed. I applied for a job and was buzzing telling them I could do MACARONI instead of MAKATON. love it!!

Haha, the auto correct on iOS is sad. Really, the keyboard doesn't know anything about me. not like the android keyboard does.

I came home at about 7:30pm today my parents were beyond furious.

They asked me why so late because it is pitch dark and in this psycho king country there is a very high chance you will get murdered or stabbed shot or what ever these crazy crack infested heads do what ever they do.

Well, there was 1 awesome youngster's ("Bobby" for her right to privacy) mom had an issue and sadly forget her because of issues at work etc.

(Sad.... I know... :( ... poor Sunshine but just an accident. :))

Anyway my mother asked why did I not talk badly to her and ask why she is so late?

Well I said I could have been negative, angry and full of poops.

But no, I wanted to be the much better man.

And decided to become inventive along the way.

Said to Bobby's mom "well..., it really is not a big issue anyway and not the end of the world, if I was perfect I would be lying. :)

And Bobby and I had fun listening to AC/DC on my Tablet PC running around with air guitar like it was the last day on Earth. ;)

No need to panic mom. She is all good. :D"

My mom did not like how I cam home so late.

I understand why.

She is concerned and understandable so.

Ja.. ja.. ja... I know there are a lot of gun shootings going on around here but I dig the kid... and she digs me so it's all good in the hood. :)

They love dogs! :)

Some of them can't believe it that I let my dog sleep on the couch... bed the dogs can do whatever they want at my house! :D

Actually, that sounds more like a husband.
The Vulcan can't do anything without some support of some kind. He can't find things in front of his nose, either - so that's a 24/7 job.

speaking of....I hate when they put all the merchandise out months before the actual event..:mad: there was back to school stuff already out the end of June! and..I'm sure Halloween stuff will be out there any day now! actually come to think if it I've seen some Thanksgiving and Halloween stuffed all incognito and wrapped up in lame Autumn theme disguises!

Oh and Season's Greetings...because I already saw Christmas lights and decorations starting to spew out on the shelves!!!

the only solace that I find in all the madness is that it just means that I'm deceptively closer to next year's "Holiday" than I thought:D:party:
