Weather forecasts ... 'nuf said.

I have come to the conclusion that today's weather report model is akin to shouting "fire" in a crowded theater. All they seem to be interested is generating panic to increase their viewers.

lmao, I notice that when I watch american tv and it's been spreading north of the border too. I can't wait until I see this winter forecast...

" Well tonight's weather forecast for eastern Canada calls for a whopping 165cm of white love. Next, we'll talk with Seamus Callahan who's here to discuss whether your snowshovels up to the task, and if it's strong enough to handle more than snow. Can you use it to ward off attackers trying to get at Gramma's Apple Pie? We'll have a complete rundown of survival shovel loadouts and even one with a built in flashlight so you can shovel even when the streetlights are out."

I grew up in Massachusetts, and I remember the snow well. I live in North Carolina now, and three inches of snow can shut down most localities in this state. We're currently in the middle of "Winter Storm Titan" right now; it was 60

Glad she's doing better still.

We were hit by this storm as well, and frankly I'm sick of the stuff already. Its not really the snow, but the owner won't hire anyone to plow the parking lot, therefore its gets compact into ice, on top of the ice we already got. We have a small hill on each side and vehicles have a heck of a time getting up them. So then its my job to go out and TRY to shovel them with this plastic flimsy shovel. Lol, yeah o k.. Well last night the shovel cracked down the middle so not much use now. Schools were closed, again, and not sure why, the roads are perfectly clear. I completely understand the drivers situation, Missourians cannot drive in this! Its called stay home when roads are bad, or if you have to go out, drive slow...

RedBear's Evo 3D

You know the deal. It's March, and where I am in the South, the weather is supposed to be more spring-like. These jet stream troughs are really bringing the cold air in; right now, it's 34

<---- starts singing in silly high pitch voice " Feel I'm goin back to Massachusetts. Somethings telling me I must go home."

mikedt - the Bee Gees gave my home state a song back in the day... as an ex-pat, you know that Barry and the boys were from your place of origin. I'm a fan, but I wasn't during the 70's. Yet, the Bee Gees bring back many good memories for me. If I could afford to live in Massachusetts, I would've moved back long ago. Alas, you can't go home again...

Steam...what a crock that is.

30 minutes trying to log in on my existing account, with intermittent servers are unavailable messages. Then finally gives another message, saying "Steam is unavailable in this country.". Turns out I got to make a new account with Steam China. Good job I never bought(leased) any games on my existing UK account, because I would have lost them.

The fact that every time I come here the "unread posts" list contains another dozen flappy bird clone announcements.

Can we have a separate forum for flappy bird clone threads? Ideally with restricted permissions like the chat to staff forum, so that the OP can see the thread but nobody else (but don't announce that, so they don't realise it's a write-only forum ;) ). Maybe setting it so that members with more than 2 posts can't see it, so the typical flappy bird cloner doesn't see an empty forum...

No time for anything these days!

Just "Go go go!"

"Hurry hurry hurry!"

"Move it up already man!"

That is for sure hey... the journey is long...

I'm sick and tired of tryhards.

They kiss the multiple butts of teachers, and steal all the questions so they can get extra credit in high school.

Guess what idiots, you won't get extra credit for high school by doing favors and hogging spotlights. That makes you nothing but idiots with intelligence. How about you use that knowledge on being independent?

Not when I was in school. Money talked. You got preferential treatment if your parents had it whether or not you brown nosed the teacher.

Verizon. I got on the chat friday asking if I can still but a block of text messages like we used to be able to and it was just a one time deal since my son was in the hospital so my wife was texting a lot giving updates to everyone. Apparently they don't do that anymore but instead of telling me the rep just said sure and I thought he did it but aparently he changed my whole plan. So we went from me having unlimited data for $30 per month and my wife having 4G data for $30/month to a shared 2G for $50 per month. So I had to call and get it switched back and the rep has to "request" that I get my unlimited plan back :(

I just watched an elder couple who obviously had mobility issues, "walk" to the pharmacy counter in a pharmacy store (CVS). WHY are all of the pharmacy counters at the BACK of the store making sick, hurt, and elder people walk through the entire store but somebody who just wants candy or cigarettes can get them at the front counter right by the door?
</rant>

Probably security - mistaken or not. You have room for larger lockups for the painkillers and other drugs that get stolen, and more room for refrigeration and storage. If the pharmacy is at the back, it should be harder to get to, supposedly.

On the other hand, when there is a robbery, more damage can be done by the robber by the time authority gets there.

Even in the day and age where you could legally buy paragoric, the pharmacy was at the back. One side of the store was a lunch counter or soda fountain, and the rest had OTC meds, etc.

You can use drive-up windows if the pharmacy has them.

Supermarkets with pharmacies have electric carts.

These folks, for whatever reason were dropping off the prescription and waiting for it and the store had no carts. Seems like the store could be laid out with the pharmacy at the front of the store and still be designed to satisfy the security issues if they wanted to. I suspect they figure it increases their sales somehow. Just really tripped my trigger to see this poor old couple have to walk quite a long distance and there were fat slobs stocking up with candy who could use some exercise at the front counter probably 5 steps from the store doors.
