Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Waning triangle with exclamation, must mean there's some problem. If the book doesn't tell you and nobody else can, might have to take it to the dealership for a diagnostic.

Wouldn't be air-bags or brakes or something else that's safety critical would it, to hazard a guess.

Airbag and brakes have their own warning lights.

As I said a warning triangle with exclamation point is very vague and not specific.
PDF didn't mention the ICE showing in my mirror compass display either. Had to Google that one to find out more. Apparently it tells me when to expect black ice, at 36 degrees or below.
Time will tell if that warning may also mean hazardous weather? BMW has a light but its triangle has a snowflake. Not exclamation point. It will be months before it gets above the low 30s though.

Safety critical issues also display in the message center. Things like TRANS HOT or SERVICE STABILITY SYS and so on.

Mike: Taking a car to the dealership for that kind of thing can be pretty expensive. Better to find a good indy mechanic.

Nowdays you can get a cheap bluetooth OBD2 dongle that you can use in the car and using an app on your phone it will pull the codes.

I feel fat, though I'm probably not but I just don't wanna accept it. I'm 19. I'm 5 foot 8 inches. I weigh 160 lb. I want to lose weight or if I can turn that fat into muscle.
You're BMI would say not obese but borderline overweight. Look up Tess Munster. That's who I was irritated about.

For those to lazy to do it, this is Tess. She claims being this heavy is okay and she also claims to lift heavy weights 5 times a week. They say she's only 250 lbs but there's no way in hell she's not over 300 lbs easily. And this is one of her heavily photoshopped pictures.

This woman is 5' 5" this is not healthy. At all.

The one below is even more done up.

Most used cars don't have a physical copy of the manual. But almost every manual ever made is online.

I don't see anything about an exclamation point inside of a triangle, but there is one inside of a circle, indicating problems with the braking system.

The Vulcan just bought a 2013 Acura. That thing came with so much stuff it resembled the Encyclopaedia Britannica!

It is a thing. I don't like luxury cars. Unlike the Infiniti, it does have a cup holder. He's struggling with the electronic data. I'll keep my Toyota Tacoma sport truck, thank you.

I had a funny with the Tacoma. Warning about the emergency brake. The light telling me the brake was engaged stayed on. Since it pulls out from under the dashboard, you could see it was disengaged. We looked in the manual, online ---- at the brake itself ---- at the wiring---

One day I decided to check the brake fluid after finding out what type it used. Added the fluid, and the warning light for emergency brake on went out. AFAIK, the emergency brake is manual. It doesn't use fluid. None of my other vehicles' emergency used fluid. Toyota must have put the fluid light warning there and no indication that it was also for brake fluid. BTW, the fluid wasn't down far enough to cause a warning for the regular brakes. Hasn't gone on since in over 14 years.

Yeah. So, you think that one button mouse approach in iOS will ever catch on with desktop machines? Oh wait. :D :D

I'd be curious about your reasons behind your opinion that an inferior operating system is ahead - I say I'd, not I'm, as in I would be curious. But not today. :p

Nothing that can't be fixed if Wacom makes a device for it. Wacom programmable tablet and stylus are great.

Might it be something stupid like a periodic maintenance light? I know my car reminds me five thousand miles after I reset it that it's time to change the oil and rotate the tires.

frustrated trying to figure out what this warning light means. back in the day it meant 'danger you can damage this' on some electronic gadget. i know it means 'something's wrong' but no Check Engine light, just this triangle!

looks like this.

Car seems to run fine though. just this light in the dash is lit.
Looks similar to a traction control off or problem light.

Actually Mike, you may be right. If this is his dash image:

I'm not seeing the normal TPMS symbol there:

That was required by law following the Fraud Exploder recall in the early aughts, that may just be what that symbol it is. Nick, check the tire pressure all the way around and see if it turns off.

Yeah, you won't believe the number of folks we have come in with that light on when the weather gets colder.
Tire pressure drops below the threshold and trips the light. :)
I was going to mention that, but didn't want try to sound smarter than the tire guy.:p

I sold something on amazon right? So u ship out the order and USPS looses the package and I'm suppose to refund the buyer?
Yep.

Never ship anything no way no how without insurance. You can even include the cost in the shipping charges. That you ought to also refund in case of loss.

https://www.usps.com/ship/insurance-extra-services.htm

The guy sent you money and got nothing - he deserves every penny back including postage / shipping / all of it. It wasn't his fault.

If you didn't get insurance, I'm sorry for you, but that's your fault.
