Sam Elliott in his character "Wade Jarrett" in the movie "Roadhouse" (with the late Patrick Swayze) summed it up to P. in the film, describing his bouncer gig:
"Don't eat the big white mint."
Marines are among the bravest, most gung-ho military men in the US Armed Forces, but they put up with a lot of crap from other branches of the military, like the Navy; I was playing a gig on an aircraft carrier, going out on a cruise that invited all of the servicemen's families to come along. The Master Chief got on the ship's PA, announcing that "...food would be served on deck at 1600 hours! For any Marines on board, that means the big hand on the clock is on twelve, and the little hand is on four..." Kind of mean, since the Marines are so Semper Fi. Hoo-rah!
^^^That. As former Army we ranked on the other branches. Mostly teased the stereotypes, teased the Marines as dumb muscleheads, Air Force as club med, etc. I can tell you we had the utmost respect for anyone that put the uniform on.Nowadays, it's mostly done in jest. We (Navy) would mess around with the Marines, they would mess around with us... Frankly, as a supervisor, I preferred having Marines around, because I only had say something needed to be done once, and it would get done.
I was thinking about this, if takes someone who knows politics, is funny with a bit of a mean streak, but still likable. A lot of people might have two out of three, but the complete package will be hard to find. Then it popped in my head: Tina Fey would be perfect. I doubt she would want the job, but I think she would be great.Who do you think would make a good replacement?
I vote for Ryan Stiles.

Wow, bjacks12. I certainly understand your side of it, but, I have pity for your disabled roommate.well it looks like hiding the remains of my food supply and not buying anymore forced my roommate to actually go buy some food for the kid to eat. I'm imagining he was woken up much earlier than he wanted to get up so the kid could have breakfast.
He's going to be in a pinch soon, as my other roommate and I are seriously talking about moving out. That's going to cut a significant part of his income out, and without me here to support the kid, who knows what he'll do.
I can, in a way, relate to your frustrations at a poor living situation. For the last ten months, me and my best friend have each been renting our own room in a house from a woman that has 23 cats and 3 dogs. It was more when we moved in. Together, the two of us have been paying her entire mortgage for almost a year. Meanwhile, there's a seriously unhealthy level of ammonia in the air from the urine and feces. Forget the fact that she cleans constantly, it's embedded in the wood of the house. The cays go everywhere except our rooms and outside, which means the kitchen is disgusting too. There have been a myriad of other little issues that finally compounded and my friend had to move out for her own health and well being. Now the cat Lady, being upset at this, is taking it out on me. She gave me three days to leave, which is up tomorrow and I still don't know what I'm going to do..well it looks like hiding the remains of my food supply and not buying anymore forced my roommate to actually go buy some food for the kid to eat. Well, later today, my TV experience is changing to HD.
FOR FREE, and at
the same monthly rate. Dish Network's The Hopper will be arriving between 12-5pm today.
I'm stoked. LW

People who have more than two or three cats suffer from a form of hoarding. It's been proven in many medical/psych journals.Enjoy! The switch is beautiful. We don't have live tv, we just rely on streaming. I have my Samsung TV in my bedroom with my chromecast for video.
In the living room is my roommate's LG HD tv with a Roku hooked up. It took me a while of being here before I realized he had it hooked up via the old Red, White, Yellow A/V cables. I grabbed a spare HDMI cable and hooked it up. Much better, lol.
That sucks man. My roommate adopted a dog almost a year ago, but other than a few annoyances like barking at the door or getting in your face for the first 30 minutes when you get home, she's a good dog.
Also....who the hell needs 23 cats? Crazy crazy people. I guess it could be worse, she could be a serial killer.
I moved in with my now-fiancée Friday, July 13, 2012.Do you want to grind someone elses gears for once? It's the first Friday13 of the year, ergo... Blame Someone Else Day!

I prefer cats... With barbecue sauce.I prefer cats. I'm cat derived. Think I'll change my name to C'Zuben. I usually only have three cats at a time.
C'Zuben, three cats are cool, and many of my greatest friends were 'cat derived'.I prefer cats. I'm cat derived. Think I'll change my name to C'Zuben. I usually only have three cats at a time.

bjacks12, happy Sunday. I've got a Toshiba C875 series laptop running Winblows 8.1, and even though it's got an AMD A6 Vision 64-bit CPU, & plenty of RAM - the entire OS and programs are 32-bit, and, I can't run my recording software without running into glitches, audio latency, and high blood pressure... while you're correct in attacking Bill Gates, since the warm brown stuff runs downhill from the top - I also have an issue with their R&D, and Software Development people, because they must've sold Bill Gates on Windows 8/8.1, and it looks like Vista revisited. When I can afford it, it's time for a RAM-eating Mac, for what I need.My one year old laptop is giving me BSOD every 10-15 minutes.
SCREW YOU BILL GATES
