Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Clark Howard (millionaire cheapskate) says you can use a razor for six months if you dry it after use. I don't know about six months, but I've tried it and they do seem to stay sharp longer.

Go electric. I highly recommend high end Brauns. Sure, they cost you a couple of hundred but I shave daily and will get a decade or so for my money. Less fuss and less bucks in the long run.

Light pollution, spoiling my view of Jupiter.

Finally stopped at about 2am, and started again this morning at 6am. BANG, BANG, BANG!!

People who come to a complete stop on the on ramps to Interstate Highways for absolutely no reason! [emoji35]

Twice in the last two weeks, I have almost rear ended the car in front of me, because some idiot up ahead decided to come to a complete and total stop on the ramp....and trust me when I say that, seeing up ahead, there was no good reason for the person coming to a complete stop.

{sorry for the long rant}

Colorado used to put up signs "continuous lane ahead" on some entrances since no one out here knows what merge means.

They still don't - neither the person who wants to merge or the one already on the road. To be fair, some entrances on minor limited access highways are too short. On interstates, there's an off ramp right after an on ramp, so the lane looks continuous.

I once spent $350 on a high-end Braun; one day, while shaving my head with it, the foil portion ruptured, and my head was cut - badly.

I bet one of those British-owned Norelco Wet-Or-Dry shavers do well - but, money is limited.

Scrape, scrape, scrape... rinse, and repeat until my face and head are smooth.

Dammit. LW

The Braun's are well known for their close shaves which is all because of it's micro thin foil. They recommend replacing such every three years and I've found that to be close to the life expectancy. Sorry about your head my friend but yes.. the foils do have a life shorter than the razor.

I don't buy expensive razors. I used to but over the years I have realized that if you keep your blades dry they last a good while.

What is the actual difference between razors for men and women?
I can see the odour of shower gel or shampoo can make a difference.
But tooth paste for men? Come on..?!

The ladies razors are pink? :p

Most of the stuff they market as being "for men" Is junk that makes you smell like you bathed in cheap cologne. I guess some guys are so insecure in their masculinity that they need reassurance that their body wash isn't too girly lol. :p

As far getting onto highways from on ramps goes, I'm just happy to get on - safely.

It won't be a long wait to see unisex razors - with the growth expansion of the LGBT community, it makes good marketing sense.

Hell, my fiancée uses my Hydro 5 to shave her legs - she said it was the smoothest shave she'd ever had.

It also saves money, and I'm all about that happening.

She and I share love, I cook for her (and, though disabled, I help around the house with everything that I can), and - she teaches me things like tolerance.

We're both very liberal in our belief systems, and I've circled the universe to find a woman like her. People who believe that 'opposites attract' are the very reason that the divorce rate - nationally - continues to climb.

I am one grateful, lucky bastard. My lady and I are simpatico. She even lets me use her Derm Exclusive products.

The 'Fill & Freeze' product really works.

Marketing, driving habits (like cars that will soon be able to drive themselves), and tax forms will change over time - but, one feeling, emotion, or act will never change:

Love.

Isn't that fantastic? IMHO, it is what will save Planet Earth, and its inhabitants - LW

I completely agree. Products like AXE body spray literally offend my olfactory senses.

Unfortunately, advertising agencies look at all of the human demographics as chaff, in order to give their clients more of the fodder they wish to obtain.

"Baa-aa-aa," said the sheep. LW

Cool Kaat. I use Crest Pro Health, which is marketed to men & women over 50. It strengthens tooth enamel, and reduces sensitivity very much like the toothpaste Sensodyne.

Like I wrote earlier, my lady and I share many things, aside from food.

Even clothes. She likes my shirts (to wear around the house).

We both use the anti-perspirant/deodorant by Helene Curtis called Suave Powder Fresh. Its scent doesn't clash with her White Diamonds, or my favorite male spray cologne, Givenchy.

Yes, I wear French cologne.

I've noticed young generations doing a lot of gender-swapping with cologne. Like some of the young male, 'emo' musicians who wear the 'skinny jeans' meant for females.

As Bob Dylan wrote when I was a kid, "The times, they are a-changing..."

Thanks for the 'heads-up', zuben - since I'll be moving out there soon.

I've used one and only one cologne all my life.

Hoppe's No. 9.

Accept no substitutes.
I've never heard of it, EarlyMon. Is it a cologne that is indigenous to NM, or, does it have a rich history worldwide? I'll look it up in a search engine, to learn about it. LW

I hate the people who only clean off a couple of porthole-sized openings in the snow on their cars. Then you have to drive through a rooster tail of snow when you get stuck behind them, or worse yet, a big chunk of permafrost flies into your windshield.
