Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Cars that don't come with a spare wheel as standard. What!!? They give you a crappy puncture repair kit that doesn't work.

I learned this when I had occasion to purchase my first brand new car in 2013 ... it came with no spare and the crappy fix-a-flat kit. They market it as a weight and storage savings, I say B.S. it's just plain cheap. So I promptly got on Amazon and got my spare kit for my car at a savings of more than $100 vs. what the dealer wanted for the same kit. And yes this was the same OEM kit they were trying to sell me. It's most certainly a racket.

[emoji33] I got my first new car in 13' too. It wasn't an expensive car but it did come with a spare. One of those tiny donuts that you can't risk driving over 50 MPH on but better than a fix-a-flat kit only.

What kind of car was it? Mine was a Toyota Yaris.

Speaking of cars and spares, I'm pretty sure this back wheel won't benefit from just a quick change. The kid was rear-ended at a red light today, he and his girlfriend at fine, the car, not so much. I guess paying attention and stopping for red lights are optional in FL. ugh. He was hoping to get his student loan paid before he needed a new car. He'll be shopping soon. It's an '05 with ~150k miles but still and all...

Car accidents, major pain in the backside. Costs you money, whatever the outcome, certainly in the UK, future premiums will be loaded because, well, you're obviously more of a risk if some idiot has piled into the back of you

Asked in the "Chat with our staff" as to why in hell they changed the password type in colors so you can't even see what you are typing.

It's black on black. Just the password, not the name.

No answer.

That's a goofy, off topic thread now. We really don't pay much attention to it anymore. Is it the new app? Or something else? If it is the new app, post in here where Phases, Rob, and the developers will see it. Heck, post in there anyway so they will see it.

No, it's not the app. I won't install that kind of app on my phone.
I'm using a 7 pro laptop.

I thought you had that all behind you...

It's ongoing. I'm seriously considering that one day I'll snap and pull them all out. Put in implants. Tada, no more cavities, bridges, crowns, fillings!

Yeah it'll cost a lot but at least I'll be done for more than 6 months.

I get 4 cleanings a year and they always find another cavity. Now my crown has decay under it and my bridge is sensitive to cold. So both sides of my mouth will be effectively fubar'ed. This is great.

I walked out. I couldn't do it. They can't even prove the darn crown has damage under it! They started treating me like crap when I asked questions. They still haven't fixed the pain in my bridge they did! Ugh!

I'm over it. Completely.

I'll deal with this again another day when I'm not as pissed.

Amazon book reviews/ratings are getting more and more worthless. I constantly see reviews saying "I read the first 20 pages and couldn't make it any further- one star". Well, if you didn't read the book, don't review it! Why bother? That's wasting your time and everyone else's. I usually see this more on literary fiction type books that take a little more reading comprehension than say, a cozy mystery. That's fine if people don't want to think too hard, but I wonder sometimes if they even read the description first. Then there are the people who leave one star because a book has swear words or a sex scene in it. Just because a book isn't for you doesn't make it a bad book. I wish more people knew the difference.

That's like those hilarious reviews on Amazon items with unconfirmed purchases. They are so absurdly ridiculous and yet Amazon lets them sit there taking away from useful reviews. It's funny sometimes but it gets old quickly.
