Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Or mine... I'll even break open a packet of

43323011_0_640x640__06695.jpg

and that's not something i'd do for anyone....

..... Ok then, everyone on this page can have one.

[emoji33] Hobnobs are real?!?

I always thought it was a slang word.

Now my newest rant is that I suddenly feel like a imbecile. Why?!? LOL

The Plain Chocolate Hobnob is possibly* the greatest biscuit** in the world***... However they are really difficult to find, as they seem to be made a random times, and in small quantities... the Milk Chocolate Hobnob and the standard Hobnob can be purchased anywhere in the UK and make a very good dunking biscuit for tea (or coffee if you don't have any tea).

So the fact that I offered you the Dark ones is a high compliment indeed....

* by which I mean definitely

** and also a word that sounds really funny to people who know what they are, and people who don't

*** MrsPsionAndy inexplicably claims its the Ginger Nut, but that's just crazy talk.

I can talk electronics all day long, though my electronics talk runs more toward the technical, since that is my job (avionics, specifically).

I have no one to talk computerese and my self-inflicted torture of messing around with minty flavors of Linux.

Ah we could discuss the merits of Mint vs. Ubuntu. I think we're gonna need a few more packets of cookies for that one :)

LOL, it's been a couple years since I used *buntu for more than a few minutes.

Not wanting to come across like a religious zealot, but when I booted up 16.04 LTS I felt I would never need to install another O/S.

At the risk of derailing the thread for a moment or three: how is Unity these days?

I actually liked Unity at the beginning, and found all kinds of interesting things to play with there until Canonical decided to go the MS route with pre-installed spyware-type apps, which is one of the reasons I went over to Mint.

Then @MoodyBlues talked me into seriously giving KDE another chance...

Expectations of Tapatalk. :wtfdroid:
^^ [emoji23] ^^
Props for pushing out quick fixes!
Even so.. Tapatalk is a lifeblood of AF & XDA no doubt about it (many, many, MANY forums). I mean, why have a buttload of apps for all the forums? Not a useful option, IMO. In fact, I'm sure that MANY users would be grateful if someone pulled their (Tapatalk) shorthairs and made them fix (in app) what you guys have done to AF. Like you said tho.. Expectations!! Send your hubby over there in uniform to scare the hell out of them. Aren't cops in Texas Judge Dredd-like judge, jury and executioner rolled up in one? ;)

Oh come on! Haha! We scared out our bottom neighbors from a few months ago. Guy was smoking weed and opened the door to let his son inside, my guy was walking up to our steps when this guy suddenly slammed the door. Yes, he was in uniform, dude was gone in 24 hours. [emoji23]

Interested.. [emoji41]
It's pretty gross tasting, but I thought I'd try something other than antibiotics for once (since I get them several times a year). First time I drank the swill I only managed a couple sips but I noticed improvement just from that. I've made this potion two more times & downed it all & have it almost licked. I also do the Neti Pot sinus rinses & those help.

but this, you have to sip/drink:

Apple Cider Vinegar Brew (link to article at the bottom)
1/2 cup warm water (not hot)
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (recipe says "Bragg apple cider vinegar" but I just used normal supermarket stuff)
1 tablespoon honey (recipe says "or manuka honey" - no clue what that is, used supermarket stuff)
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
juice of 1 lemon wedge (I used a little of the supermarket lemon juice I keep on hand)

Mix all ingredients in a glass, stir well & sip the mixture while it's warm.
You may also use this mixture without honey, to gargle, to speed up your recovery.

My comments:
1) it tastes awful, the cayenne makes your lips & throat burn a little
2) this must be a little hard on your stomach, I had to take some Tums a little later to settle my stomach
3) you have to swirl/mix before every sip or the cayenne will just sit on top
4) with this sinus infection I got a slight rash on my neck (weird, first time for everything but apparently you can get weird rashes when you're sick). This witches brew actually made my head feel better AND the neck rash went away.

Ty-.. Kinda reminiscent of a "hot tottie"

I use the Neti pot myself on occasion, and the family home remedy for sickness in general involves chicken soups dosed with cayenne.

A little horseradish paste does a pretty good job of clearing my sinuses; I recommend taking it with a medium-rare piece of beef.

If it makes you guys feel any better, I get to have cameras shoved into various orifices tomorrow, so my diet today is pretty much water. Dngrswife made me some green jello, but that's what, 90% water anyway?

On the plus side: I'll lose a good eight pounds overnight.
