I agree with everything that you said. However, I work my A$$ Off at my job as a Facilities Administrator/Procurement Specialist/IT Assistant...and I haven't gotten a raise in almost 4 years. Not at all. Any sensible management will recognise the employees who add most value and contribution to the company, and reward or otherwise encourage these employees to stay with the company.

When I am being paid only about 1/2 of the work I do...Yes...Yes I can be that selfish! [emoji6]But if you get a raise, that's less money in the rich people's pockets! You can't possibly be that selfish, can you?

4 years without a pay rise is too long.
If you go to the management and ask for a pay rise, citing all the good work you do, and value you add to the company, and they still refuse to give you one, it's time to find a more reasonable employer.

Ooh, you've met my daughter then...Having a nice peaceful place to live when suddenly a wild neighbor moves in and their subwoofer shakes your walls.
Go away!

I have no friends.
Not strictly true, of course: I have you, my imaginary friends who all live inside my computer/phone, and a couple coworkers that I can complain about aspects of my miserable existence, but no one who shares all (or even most) of my interests and knowledge-base.

Cats are anti social......er, solitary creatures anyway, unless of course, they want something.
You're welcome at my place for a coffee and a chat any time. That's if you're ever in the UK.
