Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Servers that force you to specify the index.html otherwise your page doesn't load. The browser is supposed to assume that file if the address doesn't include a target html file. Not on my new server, oh no. If you type the address without an html file specified, you get a cgi error telling you my website isn't there. Add the index to the address and it loads fine. :banghead:

Websites that do not conform to standard, and will only work acceptably with a few browsers. (Note: not a response to the post above me, that comment simply reminded me of a recurring peeve.)

Websites that only work with Internet Exploiter. Because everyone uses Windows, right? (On a side note, I once had an employee of Charter tell me that Linux couldn't be used on the internet. Really!?)

(snerk) Believe it or not, it's plausible to me that someone in a tech position could be that clueless. I did tech support for UPS for a while, and one of my training classmates wasn't clear on what a hard drive was (nice woman, great at the customer service end, bit ignorant about the technical).

Yeah, the lazy/incompetent designers who just assume that we're all MicroSerfs and wouldn't stray off that plantation, so don't bother to test on any better browsers (I used Firefox for quite a while, currently on Chrome, with Safari as fallback for some sites like VM that don't like my usuals) drive me up the wall. What part of "standard" is such a problem?

Handy tip, remove the plastic wrap from the plate before microwaving the wife's famous homemade enchiladas. Failure to do so will result in the inability to differentiate the melted plastic from the cheese.

I like to guess what car it is with minimal detail as possible... so I'm going to guess what car you have if you don't mind.

A buick LeSabre.

Right on the $
Pretty good-thinking you knew buy the hood style:)

Well actually you could kinda say I cheated here- my parents have one so I know what the hood looks like while you're behind the wheel :p

Irrational and unreasonable people! Huge pet peeve of mine. I used to be much more patient, but my ex-wife cured me of that.

Now I have a three month old, he isn't all that rational and the old frustrations come out. I can't wait for him to be old enough to understand when I tell him to wait a moment.

You have quite a wait...it will be a fun wait however:D

whgat grindes my gears is when my wireless driver craps out (every PC reboot) and i need to 'repair' it within windows but it never sticks

Oh well its what i get for using a beta OS (win8)

I hate how no matter your search string in the market (I refuse to call it the play store, that's stupid) about one third of the results are Go Launcher themes

I can't stand when people call the Google Play Store the market :p:rofl:

I use the website more than the mobile version...it seems to search better IMO ;)

Most likely, but I'm on my phone FAR more often than a PC.
It bothers me how much I actually miss not seeing half the information that the full desktop version has. Like badges. I have no idea who's a noob and who is a mod.

Use the phandroid app...it shows the color of the persons name...I'm a noob;)

You could change you browser to desktop view or try some other browsers to see of they work better for you
