Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

That does sound like the boss has either got some insecurity issues in herself, or for some reason has taken a dislike to you. Either way it's a bad situation, and will grind you down. Believe me it's demoralising, at the company I mentioned, my boss had no respect for me - ok at the time I knew crap all about anything much, but really, I just didn't feel valued at all, and there was no effort to improve my skills - they didn't allow me to get involved in the projects in which I could develop myself. I believe it was done intentionally to 'manage' me out of the company, but who cares, I'm in a great place now.
There's not much you can do when it's your boss, as they usually control the work allocation. If you go over their head, then that will likely make the situation much worse. Unfortunately the only answer for me (and maybe you) was to find another job.

That's kind of where I'm at now. In my current situation, certain someones would have to literally die for me to be able to advance, and the manager feels I haven't the right experience for any of the other supervisory jobs under his chain of command.

Which is why I am worried that I haven't heard from the manager of the department where I applied a couple weeks ago. My resume should have been strong enough to warrant an exploratory phone call at least.

Going back to the TV shows and cable TV.... Has anyone here tried DroidTV Primetime? It is the best application ever. Basically a DVR for your Android device. You need Internet to download the shows, but not to watch them once on your device. Has almost every network show, and quite a few "cable" ones... Lifetime subscription was on sale last week (I already have 2...)but it is by far the best app I use. It is actually the only app I use my tablet for.

I don't watch television.

Problem solved.

My rant for this hour: if you need a tractor to get from this end of the tiny hangar to that one, your laziness is out of control.

Seriously, it is literally 124 steps from point A to point B. I expended like five calories and got there one second behind you.

People who respond in a derisory and completely non-constructive manner to questions on Amazon.
But I guess ignorant ass-holes are common on the Internet.

What are the odds that 'Expert' AI in Crosscraze would get five bingos in one game? I usually have a better than 50% win rate and at that lose by less than 100 points most of the time.

This game, I lost by 250 points. :/

Not only that, mfg and retailers were PAYING strangers to write good reviews. Amazon had to scramble a bit once they caught on.

And if you were playing bingo, I'd suspect an illegal bit of software:

There was another instance earlier this year with rigging numbers but I can't find it right now

Now we have cheaters who think it's their right along with the shamers who get after those that follow their own drummer.

I take good reviews with a huge pinch of salt, particularly if they don't have much to say other than "it's awesome!". Comments about why it's so good are better. But I tend to give more weight to negative comments, if anything. Because that at least warns me about any problems with the product.

I am the same way!

I find it funny how people like that look exactly alike, as shown here:

We have a loud guy at work. Talks way too loud on the phone and talks to his wife on the phone revealing ALL of their personal business. Everyone else does NOT GIVE A ....

This guy is SO LOUD, he activated OK Google on my tablet while I was watching Netflix on my break. Don't know whether to laugh or just shake my head.

I've seen teachers struggling with megaphones. I have a loud voice, it's much clearer. Especially when one has to keep 50-60, 8 and 9 year olds in order.

BTW this will never happen in my classrooms.

"Classroom violence is rare in China, which has traditionally emphasised respect for teachers."

Teachers do not have guns in this country, unlike the US.

I've used DroidTV, it works in China, no VPN. Is this actually a legal service, because other things like Showbox etc. are not.
Absolutely legal. Used to be able to get HBO shows as well, but HBO started their own service, so all were removed. Not all content is available. Most network shows are, and some cable. Everything I want to watch is on there, except "Girlfriends Guide To Divorce", but my daughter has a Netflix account, so I can watch with her if I want.... Currently have too much of my own stuff to watch!

Laugh, definitely :D

Also, strike up conversations with him about the stuff he talks loudly about. "Hey Bob, how's your wife's rash doing?" Maybe he'll get the hint.
