Re-install deleted HTC widget

Damn, i've accidentally uninstalled the stock HTC facebook widget !

Is there any way of re-installing it without a factory re-set ?

why not download the facebook app from the market? its a good app. by the way i dont think my hero came with a facebook app pre installed

How did you delete the widget? Did you long press on it and drag it to the bottom of the screen?

That is just removing it from your screen, to ADD a new widget, long press anywhere on a screen that has no widget currently, then click any option that says widget, and select any of those widgets.

Please let me know when you try this if this is what you wanted!

No, i've not long pressed it, i've uninstalled the widget completely from the application manager in the settings !
(I thought i was uninstalling a downloaded facebook app i no longer use but it turns out i uninstalled the actual HTC facebook widget !!)

Anyways, due to this and another problem i had (http://androidforums.com/htc-hero/9756-chompsms-messages-problem.html#post248444http://androidforums.com/htc-hero/9756-chompsms-messages-problem.html#post248528) i've just factory re-set !

Bugger, the widget was stock with the handset so a factory re-set hasn't re-installed it.

That was a damn nice looking widget, too !!

Yep, clever me !!

They make the handset memory read only so you can't f*ck about with it (or f*ck anything up), but make it perfectly possible to delete stock applications from the UI !!

The only facebook widget I can see in my list is under Android widgets, since that's a part of the Android Facebook app...

This one is (ok... was) a HTC widget showing status updates etc, a really good widget and none on the Android market compare to the one some fool deleted from my handset. (Yeah, ok, that fool was me !!)

lmao just realised, its not a stocl widget in the true sense of the word, its an app you can download on the market, it just comes bundled with the phone!

Search the market for "facebook for android", then you'll have it again. There is NO WAY to delete a true stock Hero application or widget, I've tried.

That's what I thought! DeadlyDazza just go and download Facebook for Android from the market, and add the widget (it's under Android widgets, as I mentioned above).
