Root [RECOVERY][CWMR][UNOFFICIAL][DEV] Clockworkmod Recovery for the LG Optimus F7 LG870 (fx1s)

So I'm think about getting this phone next Friday since I lost my old one yesterday.. They have it for $230 at radio shack and my buddy said I could get it for $200 if I go thur him but how is this coming along? I'm ready to do some roming/theming/and modding...lol.. I never had a Lg device before always Samsung and Nexus.. This should be different and fun..

At one point majority of bit was working. The biggest issue in my opinion is the fact that it wipes data upon reboot.

It only wipes data if you use a rebooting app. If you use the button combination to get into cwm it works fine. At least that's been my experience.

Interesting results. Wish more people were testing this out. Everything on my end mounted as it should. Did you flash this over the first initial release as I did or was this your first flash? Interesting though you share the same results as me as far rebooter app causing data to be wiped while using the buttons does not.

I want to test it out but I don't think I can because I flashed the unsecure kernel and lost 2nd intd recovery?

download this file: fx1s-cwm.lok

and flash with adb:
Code:
adb push fx1s-cwm.lok /data/local/tmp/fx1s-cwm.lok
Code:
adb shell su -c dd if=/data/local/tmp/fx1s-cwm.lok of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery

You can flash the recovery with the method in the quote above yours. It's part of the instructions in the first post.

This is a work in progress and may or may not work at this point in time. This could also fubar your device for which I am not responsible for what you do to/with your device(s). USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Data will be wiped booting to recovery, so have a backup made and be prepared!!!

With all that said lol, here is a zip that can be flashed with the 2nd-init recovery thats available and a loki'd img for those who know how to flash it manually.

Flash in 2nd-init recovery
fx1s-cwm.zip

or

download this file: fx1s-cwm.lok

and flash with adb:
Code:
adb push fx1s-cwm.lok /data/local/tmp/fx1s-cwm.lok

Code:
adb shell su -c dd if=/data/local/tmp/fx1s-cwm.lok of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery

Please post feedback in this thread. ;)

Thanks you very much.

Can you give me fx1s-cwm.img without patch ?!

i need original recovery no patch for F7 to patch for LTE3. Help me please !
Thanks for your work :(
Sorry for my bad english.

patch what in the 2nd-init recovery??? And actually you would just need certain files from the ramdisk, not the whole img. ;)

Just took a couple hrs learning about adb. I have the lokid kernel and am dieing to test this out. Learned how to push commands just trying to learn the unbrick/unroot method. Have all the correct files just not too sure about the megalock dll placement and reconnecting data with keycode

Download this app InitReovery.apk and open. hit recovery apply and reboot. then install the cwm zip and reboot system. now power off your device and manually boot into cwm.

Ok, so i dont brick. Can you tell me what precautions i should make, before i use this app. Please. I wanna use your new rom im just afraid of bricking. Its a pain to get back after bricking lol

well by doing this you're responsible for anything that happens to your phone but just installing that app and following the instructions shouldn't brick your device. Once you have cwm installed make a backup to the external sdcard and you're fine. My ROM wont be released until we get this new ZV5 update sometime early next month. btw try not to delete anything or mod the system in anyway, cause one. you might just end up bricking your phone but lgs flash tool should be able to save it and 2. To install the new update coming to our device soon you need to be on complete stock. if you're rooted thats fine. btw you might just wanna install the app install init recovery and then do a backup from it and forget about this threads cwm for now since the OTA will certainly fail while trying to flash with this cwm. the init cwm has stock recovery still installed so the OTA will still work. whenever you need cwm just hit recovery apply and reboot to cwm. after that session it will have stock recovery still installed. Once you're updated to ZV5 then you can install this threads recovery.

What's in the ROM you're about to release? It would be nice if it had native usb tethering. Also will it be possible to flash this future rom if I'm running the unsecured kernel only?

As long as you install the recovery in this thread, you'll be able to flash anything that's available for this phone.

Like I told you in the other thread, 2nd-init is not working with loki'd kernels since it wasn't made for this phone.

Ok I'll flash the recovery on this thread then. Thanks for the help. :)
