I just think it's simpler....not really better per se. A little more professional looking maybe (black and white)? More polished? hmm what am I trying to say ...

Less settings, hence less customization, hence less things to deal with and 1 less program running. Its faster I believe. Handcent is a great text app not knockin' it :D

I'm loving the Droid2 keyboard it is an excellent piece of work, super fast, and the voice recognition is outstanding!

Cool, thanks. Gotta get some folks to text me now :eek: I use Swype so I've never really checked out other keyboards. I read a lot about them but never switched.
 
I don't know whether to praise or curse you guys for getting me started on this ROM. I've become a bloom'in Redemptive addict! *sigh*
 
I'm a redemptive addict too. New transitions are very cool, battery life is awful from the first few hours. But that could change as I stop fooling around. I don't particularly like the stock theme but Lou is saying he's working on it. Jury still out for me on this one. I really liked 1.8, it was rock solid and I have a very current backup waiting just in case. Can't get appbrain to sync correctly.

I haven't flashed yet. Waiting a bit to further review comments on 1.9 on XDA. Might just wait till alpha is ported. I'm so content with my 1.8 and how it's set up. Matter of fact I've never used the same ROM for this long!

Yeah, my battery life was sucking at first but it seems to be improving. I probably make things worse by not wiping battery stats as soon as I install the new rom. Most of the new look of 1.9 I like. There are a couple exceptions to this but, like you said, he's working on it. I personally like blue buttons, etc. of the Matted blues theme.

I might shut 'er down and do the wipe stats thing. I'll throw in a bumped stock battery and see what happens.
+1 on the Matted blue. Should only be a couple of days for a theme from him.
 
I don't care for the classic Rosie bar but like the flying animations. I'm almost thinking it'd be a little better for those who don't use LP and like Classic Sense with a twist. Once he gets the burst theme ported, it'll be perfect.

Same here. I just now charged up and reset batt stats. It was discharging too quickly to be acceptable. Now for the waiting game to see the results.
 
Yeah, I'm still not really happy with the way the battery behaves with this kernel. I've noticed that sometimes it charges REALLY fast but then discharges REALLY fast. Something here is wierd.
