Root [Release] Another new baseband C_01.43.01P

Anyone else having terrible signal strength with C_01.43.01P? When I first flashed it I didn't notice any change in signal strength but last night I noticed that I only had 2 bars at my home when I normally get full strength. Today at work I noticed the same thing, low bars when I used to get full strength. So I downgraded my baseband back to C_01.3E.03P and got full strength again. Anyone having this issue?

I had the same issue. After flashing to C_01.43.01P my phone would never leave 1x. Same thing with c_01.41.00R. I had to go back to C_01.3E.03P as well.

I installed Pete's BB 2.2 and his baseband he offers (C_01.43.01P). I decided to go back to BB v1.1 so I restored my backup from Rom Manager. I didn't downgrade the baseband and it is working fine with 2.1.

Just thought I'd let people know that if you go back to 2.1 you may not need to downgrade the baseband if you upgraded it for the 2.2 rom.

That's what I'm using and it's working very well for me. 3G most of the time with Froyo. I don't see the need to change basebands just for the heck of it when this one is working so well.

Just thought I would share my experience:

I have always been a Bugless Beast user. Went from 2.1 -> 2.2 (tried all three versions and ended up back on BB Froyo 0.1).

I was bored at work so I decided to do the baseband update. I was running his Froyo rom although my baseband was C_01.3E.01P.

I tried doing Pete's baseband update through CW but it would just reboot the phone with no update applied.

Manually entered CW and installed C_01.43.01P. I wasn't aware of the notes that say 00R is required. However, am I correct in thinking with Pete's baseband update, 00R is not needed?

Phone rebooted, asked me to activate, and showed a triangle icon next to the 3G until activation was done.

Phone is working fine. Temps are normal. Tried some speed tests but don't notice a huge difference. Seems the phone is no longer kicking back to 1x all the time. Signal strength went from high -80's to low -80's in the same location.

Hate to bring this thread back up but I've got a problem. Im running JRummy's Kangerade 5.0.9 and I've always had issues dropping calls at home, and got desperate enough to try a baseband update. I first installed the C_01.41.00R update and then C_01.43.01P both through ROM Manager. Installation went smooth and when the phone boots up it asks to activate. I go ahead with activation and is says it was successful, etc. Well after that its nothing. I have bars, but no data connection, and cannot call out. Its as if the phone is not activated. If I go to status my phone number is "000-000-1029" and MIN is "0000000129".

I figured I would go into manual programming and fix it, but when I dial ##7764726 it actually tries to dial that instead of going to manual programming.

Im stumped and could use some advice.

PS I've also went to My Verizon and tried activating through there and I get "We cannot process your request at this time, please try again later."

see if you can locate older basebands and try flashing those. something may have went wrong with the flashing. I have not had this problem, so im just guessing. I downgraded my baseband a while back to the first one that came with the droid and all is well so far.

I'd try a *228 option 1 again before anything else. Activating through My Verizon only activates the esn on your account, you'd still have to *228 the phone.

Okay I flashed the baseband in this thread

http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid/58076-release-update-baseband-c_01-3e-03p.html

and its still the same...

Still cannot access manual programming.

Also, the ##program menu missing would be rom specific. YOu could try flashing another rom to get that functionality back.

I've tried the OTA activation probably 10 times now. I think I will try flashing stock 2.2 and see if manual programming works then.

Also, do you have 3g connection where you are? I was told by vzw tech before that the ota uses 3g and won't work on 1x (proceeded to manual program from there)

Yes, and there are also two towers within a mile of me and another one maybe five miles out. I drop calls constantly. I will have a perfect signal until I actually get into a call. I've talked to VZ's tech guys several times and they've never fixed it.

Okay big problem, flashed back to stock 2.2 and *still* cannot get to manual programming. This really is not good.

I restored a backup I made a week or two ago with an older kangerade release and now I can get to manual programming, hopefully I can get this straight.

Edit- It worked, I have a functional phone again. I'm going to try the updated baseband again since I can actually access manual programming now.

All seems good now. Updated baseband working. Im back on Kangerade 5.0.9. I'll definitely be keeping that backup around though. Maybe someone should let ROM developers know about this issue of not being able to access manual programming?

Running the baseband right now. Values are about 5-10 better and the outgoing voice quality is far better (per my secretary and leaving a message on my ansering machine). Signal varies between -52 and -98 from my house to work. Its a keeper for me.
