Root [Release] Update to Baseband C_01.3E.03P

Just did the update, but now I can't sign into google. It keeps giving me a sign in error. Im using UD 9.0 could that be the problem?

I can surf the internet though...Don't know what to do now.

Also posted in the other thread:

Open Market, and it will ask for a password. Worked fine after that.

Am I understanding correctly that this update basically updates the radio only and I can keep the rooted 2.1 rom currently installed? Thanks.

Yes. It will prompt you to reactivate your phone and sign back into google. Then you are good to go.

Thanks much Fab!! I installed the new baseband and all went as described. I had one issue I haven't seen posted here yet: I lost my bluetooth connection with my headset (even though it was showing as paired and connected) after going through all of the activation, gmail password, and changing back to EVRC-B and the reboot resulting from that. In other words, it looked like bluetooth was working (the notification bar icon showed that bluetooth was on and connected), but when I tried to make a call, the "bluetooth" indicator button at the bottom was greyed out and the call was only available on the handset.

Another reboot, then going through a new pairing process with my headset fixed the problem and everything is working flawlessly now. Hope that helps if someone else has this issue.

No problems here either... make sure your select option one when activating... this reprograms the phone. You can do the prl update as well... but option 1 is whats it's looking to do.

It's a newer radio firmware. Should improve battery life, reception, fewer dropped calls, etc.

YMMV

You need to reactivate with Verizon and re-sign into Google, but you will not lose any apps, settings, contacts, homescreens, etc.

How do we do this? Do we just do *228 with option 1 to program our phone?

EDIT: Nevermind. :) Someone already answered my question.

Worked great! I updated thru Rom Manager without a hitch.

Kinda weird thou I'm getting solid 3 bars 3g but still have -94 dbm at work. whereas before the signal would jump between -94 and -96 and the bars would go from 1 bar to none bars..........

should CDMA roaming network be set to home only or automatic?
turn roaming on, this will allow you to connect to the extended network where needed. don't worry you won't get charged since there is no roaming unless you go outside the country. i personally talked to verizon about this. helps my reception in some places

not worried about roaming. just want the best chance to lock on local towers.

Well, successful install, except that it didn't prompt me to log into Google again - but under the accounts it says "sync error".

It tells me that the only way to remove the account is a factory reset. I'd rather not set the whole damn phone up again, to be honest.

Any way around this?

Never mind - logging in through the market fixed it.

We'll see what it does!

Well, I hope it's just a tower problem - but while my signal strength appears to be about the same. My data speeds have gone from around 2mbps to barely getting .5 on the down. Strength is still around the 3 bars. This is really frustrating. Have tried multiple activations just in case the first one was botched. Will have to see what I get at home tonight - but I am not impressed so far.

ive noticed whenever they are pushing udates out the network slows down. prolly just because of that right now

I did all this and my call quality seems to be terrible now. Any help? thanks

flashed new zip and changed program

edit: okay just talked with another friend and that went crystal clear. Will have to keep an ear out for if the problem is isolated to certain contacts or not.

Additionally, I would suggest you reenter your programming menu (dial ##PROGRAM) to change your vocode to EVRC-B.

I did this and now I'm being prompted for a SPC passcode. Apparently it only takes numbers. If I would have set a passcode for this myself, it would have accepted what I tried, so I'm guessing there's something else. Soooo...now what? lol

I've updated the OP w/ the password.

Sorry, the thought slipped my mind. This was one of the oldest hacks we have, thought most of us had done it already by now :p

EDIT: btw, don't mess around with any of the other settings in the programming menu :D

Thanks, I've only been doing this um...coughcoughhackingcoughcough...um thing for a couple months now. But now that I have...I'm addicted. I'd be so lost w/o you guys here.

Ok, Rebooted twice so far randomly...I figure one more and we should be good to go, right? lol

EDIT: OK, there was number 3..lol

EDIT: #4...ok, slight concern begins

Yeah, that's normal. Remember, CDMA networks can't do data and voice at the same time, unfortunately.

That's strange...

What ROM are you using?

Seems to have stabilized now, finally. I saw a few others had that issue in this thread so I didn't want to worry too much. But I'm glad that's over, lol. And I'm currently using Ultimate Droid 8.3.1. But I have every intention on updating to 9.0 in just a lil bit.
