[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

well guys I am not sure if I was just impatient or if my business sense was tingling, but I just purchased an incredible. I purchased it off ebay so I don't have any fear of not making the return period for the tb.I also got it around $70 under similar conditioned phones, so I should be able to re-sell for at the least a break even(most likely I'll profit a little).

Now with my luck the incredible will get here wens and the tb will release thurs

What you've done is smart for a couple of reasons.

1) You are now going to get a device you'll be happy with. The incredible may be a year old...but it's no slouch!

2) You are now not in a "OMG the T-Bolt just launched!...I've got to run to the store and get it now" hurry up mode.

Maybe I think your move is smart because...well, I did the exact same thing. I had the Original Moto Droid and was "itching" for a new device that wasn't so laggy. Got my mint condition Fascinate for $270 on eBay so I didn't use my upgrade. When the T-Bolt releases, I will be excited...but I'm not running out to the store to pick one up instantly. I have time to make a decision cause my Fascinate (while FAR from perfect) is keeping me satisfied ATM.

The only thing I'm kicking myself in the a$$ for is that I would have been 6 months through a 1 year contract on a Fascinate if I purchased one back in September. But I was waiting on SOMETHING...ANYTHING on Verizon's network worth while upgrading to. The T-Bolt was rumored way back then and I was definitely going to buy one when it launched...which STILL hasn't happen yet.

I like Verizon...but their phone selection currently sucks! Seriously...6 months since their last "high end" handset was released???

you would have been set up perfectly for getting out of contract right after all the cool dual cores would be released. you would also be out of contract right before all the cool quad cores are supposed to come out, so pick your evil.

whether the tb comes out next week or next month I should be set now. I still plan on getting it shortly after/day of release, but it is no longer a necessary thing for me. I could wait for customer review to roll out before I purchase it, but in all honesty I prob will not lol. I have been watching DINC for awhile now, I just could never justify purchasing one that I would be lucky to only lose a few bucks on, but with the deal I got I just couldn't pass it up.

I'm still going to get the TB at launch on a 1yr Contract (assuming it's offered with one) as I have a line with an upgrade available in July then another two in December. So if something comes out between July and December that catches my attention I'll get it and put my TB on that line . Everyone wins

Okay guys, so I was pulled into a conference call earlier this morning regarding the Thunderbolt and other unmentioned phones and I have good news some and bad news.

Good news is in relation to the 4G LTE data plans. If you are currently signed up, or will sign up for 4G LTE data plans in the near future, you WILL be grandfathered in once tiered prices hit this summer and you will NOT have to pay more than the $30 per month for unlimited. So sign up early and lock that unlimited data in.

Now, onto more disturbing topics...

Bad news is that the Thunderbolt will not meet its previously scheduled launch date of March 10th [AGAIN] and is now moving to its consequent launch date of the 17th, hence the postponement of shipped devices from the system and withheld announcements. This makes sense as to why the announcement was missed earlier this week.

Now, I acknowledge the fact that some of us have been waiting for this device since November 23rd, myself included, but we have to realize that in less than two weeks, this device will be in our hands.

Now, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I am only relaying the information I was told this morning. Regardless of how much time we have left until launch, I'm sure we can all agree that we have a beautiful, and lightning fast device to look forward to within the next two weeks.

Verizon had been planning on launching this device Feb. 14th and then March 10th, but as with all devices, there's always a secondary planned launch date (or a third planned launch date for the Thunderbolt), to account for any unexpected delays which may or may not come up. Being the third time this has device has been officially and internally postponed I believe we are looking at a definite March 17th launch.

Technically yes, which is why there was no announcement.

Okay guys, so I was pulled into a conference call earlier this morning ....

Wasn't Bennnnn the guy who said we were supposed to get some big announcement on Thursday or Friday (that didn't come)? Is he reliable? I didn't think his info panned out last week.(?)

We are transferring out business lines to Verizon when the Thunderbolts is released. We have been waiting and last week they decided to give us demo phones for the account. I thought this was odd if it was coming out in the next week or two. Unfortunately, the demo offer makes sense with the above news.

I think my boss is starting to wonder why I have taken every Thursday off since (and including) February 14th. :D So far I've been to two funerals, 1 wedding and 1 Doctor Appointment. :)

I believe this source to be reliable even though he has no control over last minute changes.

My faith in this source, of course, makes me wrong about a March 10th release.

This information also goes along with BMX's info of late when he has been referring to his original March 17th prediction as stated in the poem on his blog.

The only Insider info I truly trust is that of BMX's.

1. I wasn't given a date as to when the announcement is. This phone is becoming a bit ridiculous with all the inconsistencies it is facing so I could either be a week before or a day before. As always, I will keep you all updated on my hearings.

2. Yep, If you buy the Thunderbolt launch day, you will be locked into unlimited!

His reliability is a tough question. He has verified his employment in corporate vzw. But the info he gives isn't anymore concrete than the next guys.

Guys good news, my trusted source just gave me some good information. He informed me that this phone will be released sometime within this week, next week, the week after, or sometime this year. This came from the higher ups, I am positive that this information is good.

My sources tell me that the phone is officially going to be announced early in the morning on 13th of March at 2:22 am. The stars are in a favourable position at that time for a phone release by Verizon.

Ahh yes...when Neptune is aligned with the 9th moon of Saturn as well as Uranus! ;)

Speculation threads are enjoyable to read...but at this point in time, Black Man X is the only information source I believe has ANY creditability.

Sorry, but even my 6 yr. old son is a better source for info on this phone outside of BMX!

Seriously though... BMX is the only source I completely trust. That said, even HE is subject to the whims of those he gets his information from. In the end, regardless of how much I trust BMX, he is only as good as the info HE gets.

NO ONE wanted to believe BMX. He was painting a "doom and gloom" picture of a 2011 release back in October/November when everyone was putting stock into what Miami @ DF was reporting. I don't think Miami did anything wrong though, as he obviously was getting fed faulty info (and got treated like crap for his efforts :(). We all wanted to believe Miami though because he was giving us info that the device would release in late 2010.

So in 2011, no one still wanted to believe BMX cause he was saying March all along while others were talking February. Good news is easier to believe, but it doesn't make the news any good ;)

I agree. If one person says "March 10th, for sure," and someone else says, "March 17th is definitely it," people are most likely going to jump on the 10th bandwagon.

People are getting tired of rumour mongering from supposed Verizon employees and sales representatives. It is getting a bit old. I think the next 'big thing' in spreading rumours is posing as UPS or Fed Ex workers. Nothing is going to get more 'hits' or 'followers' than tweeting about how you delivered tens of boxes to Verizon and Best Buy across town.

Yeah, Miami got raked over the coals, and it was wrong. I admit that I told him I found it hard to believe that one day a 6:15pm email confirmed a date, and a 9:45am email the next day changed it. I even asked if he could post these emails, but I NEVER attacked him personally or gave him an attitude.

We are transferring out business lines to Verizon when the Thunderbolts is released. We have been waiting and last week they decided to give us demo phones for the account. I thought this was odd if it was coming out in the next week or two. Unfortunately, the demo offer makes sense with the above news.

How many lines did you transfer? Do you already have the lines set up with Verizon?

So, some updates on my end.

I went to two places today to ask about the Thunderbolt. One of the place is this cell phone retailer who was operating a stall at this home improvement show. They said that the phone should be out "by next week or the week after that" because they have received training, which normally means it's coming fast.

The second place is the vzw corporate store. The gal there gave me two answers, effectlvely. She first said she does not know, but as I told her about not switching to Verizon until the Tbolt is released, she said that they have the date, but they are keeping it hush-hush, for the specific reason to prevent the outcry over "delays".

I think the signs are good, if you read it properly...

Operating a stall? Did he at least offer up a courtesy flush?
