[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

How would buying a tablet & using it on wifi be better than just using the smartphone on wifi? Everyone is acting like once you get this phone you can only use 4G for data. It will be able to use wifi (when available), LTE (on the go & in LTE coverage), and 3G (on the go & not under LTE coverage). Granted some apps may not work with 3G, but it doesn't mean you have to use LTE for everything. If that were the case why even have wifi on the phone? I stay on wifi whenever possible & use 3G only when necessary. Only when my wifi router went down did I use 3G exclusively and then I only was around 700mb.

Because some of us folks who travel a lot will have just a liiiiiitle hard time getting a wifi signal to lock on to ;)

Folks should be making VZW tiered efforts difficult and not bend over and say thank you sir, may I have another?! :) VZW luuuuuvs complacent customers :)

3G unlimited for the win! :)

My post was a joke about cheap phones and tablets, but still point is VZW may see results they have not expected.

lol its getting too quiet in here. This latest news looks to have turned a lot of us off from it altogether. This is a prime opportunity for a 'new source' to come forward and start spreading more rumors again.

I don't work in this space and if I'm missing something obivious, apologies to our VZ insider. Please enlighten me. Thanks.

Hence the lack of the announcement.

No information right now. But thats a good thing.

I do the same - WiFi when available - and will probably do the same with the TB because of possible data caps. I think the point is more about if you're using WiFi all the time, then why pay for the 4G/3G service - which you are required to do with a smartphone. Instead get a WiFi only tablet - even an iPod touch. I wouldn't do that, but I think that's the point he/she was trying to get across

So even if you get a $200 tablet, you are still paying $30 a month for 3G data on your smartphone, plus the price of a tablet. If VZW follows at&ts model, we'll be paying around the same but it won't be unlimited. What I was trying to get across is that if you use WiFi WHEN YOU CAN, you have less of a chance of going over. They are going to tiered data, there's no stopping that. Even if you stay on your current phone there will be something that comes out later ( a feature or text package or whatever ) that will require you to switch from your unlimited data plan. Verizon has done this in the past to get people off of old plans, whether voice or data. If you start working on better usage habits it won't be so hard later.

Wow! No dual-core for the LG Revolution? Major Fail!

Here's the thing, if LG wants their 4G phone to compete with HTC's 4G phone...they are going to need a little extra help. I think LG's success with the Revolution depended on the dual-core processor that they elected not to use.

So much for LG being an option...I'm that much closer to being a "definite" T-Bolt owner.

Bionic or bust. I think ill stick to 3G until next March and take my five lines somewhere else. I sure hope Verizon knows what they are doing if they go tiered data plans starting with the bolt.

Um, no offense, but this has been known for a while now. Netflix was originally being shown off on the Rev. The reason everyone assumed Netflix is coming to the TB was because the two devices are using the same processor.

It was supposed to be dual core.

Right, I agree with you 100%. I have never gone over 0.5 GB on my phone because I use WiFi most of the time. I would welcome a tiered plan that would put me equal to or less than what I pay now.

The Tablet thing... like I said, I wouldn't do it... but if I did, I wouldn't get a smartphone alongside it - I'd get a standard flip phone to make calls with... no data plan necessary.

I got a curious question, if say I get the Thunderbolt and the pricing is the same, $30 a month or so. A few months later I decide to say...get the Zoom, when I purchase the zoom, do I get a Separate data plan as well, or can it just fall under the T-bolts one?
