If I misunderstood the original post, then I apologize. I just want to get factual information on this forum and let readers draw their own conclusions (and I think you may actually be right about Miami being first after reading your post above). The forum @ Droid Forums is a complete mess due to arguing, attacks, and mis-information.

I am glad that he is helping out and releasing dates, people really need to back off.
While I appreciate what he does for us, I won't believe a date he gives us until it is actually confirmed to happen. Not because I don't believe him, just because he has had solid evidence just for it to change.
It isn't his fault that the phone isn't releasing when he said it was going to, he had the emails, just so happens it didn't make it at that time.

I haven't followed the happenings over there lately but people were just downright RUDE! We don't let forum members talk to other forum members that way
I think the T-Bolt is delayed JUST to have another 3 weeks of commercials and talk. I wonder how many people have gone into Verizon to get the Thunderbolt...only to find out it isn't out yet. People want what they can't have. Nationwide advertisements will continue to ensure that people are paying attention. Don't be surprised if Verizon holds back and creates an artificial shortage to drum up even more publicity. And for those who think it won't happen...look at the success of the Wii. That's exactly what Nintendo did.

Sorry to quote myself but I see how. Db misunderstood my statement. Just for clarification purposes, I was referring to another poster saying that Miami had stolen info from bmx. I see that post has either been edited or deleted now.

Again! I am standing by the 2/28/11 as the release date, that is when the Skype update is scheduled to push out. My Rep told me that's why I haven't received my phones yet. They want it to update when they activate the phone. I was supposed to receive my shipment between Monday, and today. So far he hasn't lied to me, at first he said 2/24/11 and I asked him why BB was advertising Valentine's day, he said that he no idea why.

I would be surprised if they released the iphone 5 for AT&T first, but I also think they wont release it until Feb 2012, in which case it would be enough time to work on a dual mode phone.
The verizon iphone 4 has dual mode where it could have been a world phone so it wouldnt surprise me if they announced a dual mode iphone 5
I dont buy that because updates have been known to mess up phones.
Why apply the update during activation if you don't know what could happen? Would be a poor move but I wouldn't put it past. VZW for such poor foresight.
They don't do it during the activation, they activate the phone then let it update. This isn't the first time, and wont be the last. They don't stop production for a software update, so they wait and push the update when it's ready. I have never had an update screw up a phone, they push software updates all of the time. 2.1 to 2.2and so on. No one complains about those.

Seriously...what are my other options besides waiting another 3-6 months? The Bionic will be locked down and I almost feel like being a Moderator on an Android forum site that has so many rooted users...it just feels like I'm supporting the wrong company if I buy a Moto product now.
I think the T-Bolt will be a great device (my fascinate is just okay). I'm just tired of the games being played.

Edit: Think about this. I think HTC might be more the cause of these "delays" than Verizon.
What if HTC "pulled" the 3G version...that was never going to exist other than to get their hooks into the Millions of Motorola Droid owners on a 1 year contract? Now they are hooking the original DInc owners on a one year contract and stringing out the release as long as they can to capture as many of those owners with "the latest and greatest" device as soon as their one year contracts are up.

With what was announced earlier this week about the Samsung 4G LTE getting on MAP, there is a possiblity that the Tbolt won't be the 1st 4G phone, but one of the 1st 4G phones.
This is purely speculation, but with these damned delays, Sammy's phone will probably release right around the Tbolt. Now mind you I won't go Samsung (for the reasons that have been stated ad nauseam), but it's getting to be sad that those Tbolt ads saying the 1st 4G phone may not be correct. Especially considering at CES the Tbolt was the most polished and the Sammy the least.
I was going to buy the Tbolt full retail but maybe I'll just wait and ride out my contract and evaluate the phone/ carrier situation at that time.
It's kinda like with my dog. You can dangle something in front of her for awhile & she HAS to have it. But if you hold onto it for too long she gives up & lays down.

Happened to my girl's Vibrant and a friend's phone on AT&T. Not saying every phone is screwed up but there are ALWAYS complaints about updates. Just look online every time a major update has come out for any carrier.
And doing it right after activation is the same thing as during activation, from the customer POV. My point is that the phone is updated before the customer walks out the store with it.
Maybe that's better since the customer can demand another phone if the update neuters anything. I don't know.
