[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

VerizonWireless.com is temporarily unavailable. Probably a crazy coincidence to get our hopes up. :(

Yeah I can picture them now. "Let's take the site down so all the Thunderbolt people get their hopes up and then we can just laugh at them hahahaha"

LOL I hope someone attacked their site denial of service attack. LOL, verizon deserves that shit, I hope it's some pissed of htc employee bringing down their site.

It seems the part of the site's scripts that're browser-sensitive are hosed.

Most of the site seems down in FireFox (redirects to backbutton.html) - none of it is down with WebKit browsers.

This is still the same in FireFox - Verizon Wireless

Otherwise it's iPhone this and iPad that - move along, nothing to see here - literally. :D

NO ONE wanted to believe BMX. He was painting a "doom and gloom" picture of a 2011 release back in October/November when everyone was putting stock into what Miami @ DF was reporting. I don't think Miami did anything wrong though, as he obviously was getting fed faulty info (and got treated like crap for his efforts :(). We all wanted to believe Miami though because he was giving us info that the device would release in late 2010.

So in 2011, no one still wanted to believe BMX cause he was saying March all along while others were talking February. Good news is easier to believe, but it doesn't make the news any good ;)

Well said.

Sorry guys I've been pretty busy with family stuff this weekend, but I'll try to be on later tonight to answer questions.

Just to clarify for all those who are confused, I'll try to explain this situation to the best of my knowledge:

Well before CES was even hosted, Verizon had an official hard launch date of March 17th for the HTC Thunderbolt. As more phones were being announced and pushed onto the market that rivaled the Thunderbolt, Verizon scheduled an early push for this phone, February 14th. Due to arising problems with battery life on 4G LTE services, this initial early push date was missed and rescheduled for a later date, March 10th. Today we were informed that this phone was not completely ready for a launch date as early as March 10th, and cancelled all early launch plans, reverting back to the initial date of March 17th.

Hope this clears up some questions.

EDIT: Delay has nothing to do with the iPad. They are two separate device categories.

Hmmm ... sound familiar? Seems we've all heard this from BMX months ago.

Well, if they were planning to accelerate release from 3/17 and had a hand in this stir - and then have LTE battery issues as the hold-up and this subsequent fail at managing PR over these rumors, that's gotta be destined to go down as the shot in the foot heard around the world.
