Root Replacement Phone?

An UrgeTo Dance

The Hero of the Winds
Okay so I am getting a replacement from insurance today and I want to make sure my current one is wiped completely. I had to unroot the phone a week ago when I brought it is for them to look at so I am completely unrooted. Can I flash an RUU while I'm completely unrooted or is it just best to do a couple of factory data resets?

Thanks in advance.

It's safe to flash the ruu, no worries there. I would use Football's latest 4.54 ruu over on xda;)

yeah you are not completely unrooted until you flash the ruu that matches your hboot. the ruu will give you the stock recovery and stock rom.

And just to be on the safe side, you could always install all the HTC updates up to the current one to ensure that everything matches, right? Any Hboot updates would be made to make sure your software matches the hboot.
