Help Report light leaks here, please

I didn't really know where to post this... but... I have a little light-leaking out next to my search button. It's very small. Nothing big enough to make me want to get a replacement. It's like pin-hole sized, but it's definately there. I hope it doesn't get any bigger. :o

Edit: Thank you Mods for moving this.

same here, only a few dots on the capacitive buttons. i think this is just a minor issue with all htc phones, its nothing too serious. its really hard to notice unless you hold the phone up to your face and stare at the buttons, which you wouldnt be doing in any other situation, you'd normally just be looking at the screen. a case should ease any nervousness anyone may have about this dust stuff getting bigger

Mine has the exact same thing between the back and search buttons. I have light leakage around the bottom of the screen as well. Worse than my old Evo. I haven't decided if I'm going to get a replacement or not. With my luck I'd probably end up with one even worse :o

Unless my screen protector is playing tricks on my eyes, mines right out the side next to the search button as well so you aren't alone. Its not bad. Maybe there will be a way to turn off the backlit keys. I have the locations of them burned onto my consciousness I don't really need them backlit.

Yea, there's a ring of light all around the bottom edge of the glass on mine. It's kinda blue tinted though, doesn't bother me too much. It's even the whole way around and it fades as it goes up the sides. Looks kinda.... well if you look at it in an artistic way it's kinda nifty. Still sucks that this is a problem on the new one as well as the old one, oh well.

Mine has the same across the entire bottom as well, going up the sides about a centimeter. Not as blatantly obvious as other HTC phones Ive had although I still wish it wasnt there, wont bother trying to switch it out though.

the bluish ring around the bottom edge of the phone isnt like leakage, its the light from the capacitive buttons reflecting of the phone

While I'm fortunate enough not to have this problem, just reading about it makes me miss my hardware buttons on my DX. I've been accidentally hitting my haptic buttons so much. Plus menu and home are in the reverse order.

I don't know if this is the thread to post this but I have a weird green blinking light from the top of my screen. It happens when I'm on a call on bluetooth or speaker and I'm using my phone at the same time.

My phone has the issue with the light coming through around the bottom of the screen as well. The funny thing is, it has this ambiance effect and to me it looks kind a cool. So no complaints from me.

I have some light leakage all across the bottom then up both sides till its about even with the bottom of the screen itself. Its gonna bug me for sure I bought a case for it the body glove so the very small bottom piece kinda brings up the light leakage more. Also I wish the 4 buttons at the bottom turned off eventually its kinda annoying watchin a movie or something and the 4 button lights never shutting off but I love the phone though

Mine is fine, EXCEPT when I enter the "clock" app, and hit the "sleep mode" I notice that light bleeds out of the search capacitive button....ARGH!

Lol, my search button does that as well. Oh well. For the most part, the buttons are either on or its bright enough where I'm at that I won't see it.

I noticed a second one by my home button today. :(
Still not a big enough deal for me to get a replacement, but certainly unsettling.

the 3D I had was suffering from it. My Evo 4G had it as well. However, my HTC Sensation does not and I dont recall hearing about it on the Incredible. Why is this only an issue with the Evo line?

It's a bit discouraging to read that HTC is still having trouble keeping light leakage under control in their devices.

I have a launch day EVO4G with significant leakage and it really bugged me, but I just use the 'LEDs Hack' app to turn off the key lights.

You need root though, so hopefully that'll be achieved in the 3D soon enough.
