Root Resident Evil boot animation

Tried to re flash and got the same results. Used root explorer to manually replace the sound file and still nothing. I must have muted a setting somewhere that I can't seem to find now.
open up the phone settings then go to sound, make sure it's not in silent mode. If that is not the problem open root explorer, go to /system then /etc scroll down till you see the PowerOn_standard.snd file make sure there isn't a .wav after it.

This bootani worked like 3 times then went in to a bootloop:eek:. I removed it and haven't had any problems since .
your phone should not bootloop because of this animation, if it does i would suspect other causes of instability. Also i think Shabby's ROM or Bloodawn's CTmod ROM is required for boot animations

Yeah , I'm running most of the mods from the Forum . I wasn't saying that this bootani caues bootloops on all phones , I was just saying for some reason it did on mine . I had a conflict somewhere and instead of going through everything to find out what it was, I just didn't re-install it . I enjoyed it the short time I had it . I'm running Absolute Root Tools and it comes with several hundred bootani's I can download and use not 2 mention fonts so no biggie . Thanks for sharing it with the Forum . :D

Rooted and using CTMod 2.3 downloaded it and put it on my memory card and rebooted into recovery/CWM did a backup and then installed zip from sd card and nothing changed. Do I also have to add the files manually to get it to work seems redundant....

Edit rebooted a few times and still wasn't working. Installed again in CWM and then rebooted 2x and now the animation side seems to work still trying to get sound going.

im running ctmod2.3 with koumakernal...ive been told i can change the boot animation....how would i put this on?
nevermind got it...bo9ot animation works fine after flashing it with cwm...only thing..no sound lol...no worries i still like it

I must be really slow bc everyone makes this seem easy, but I have tried using ez file explorer, i've tried flashing with cwm, i even tried using apps from the market to change my boot animation and nothing works. I really like this boot animation and would love to use it but I am not doing something right, pls help me. I understand how to move a file but it just does not seem to work.

This is so stupid, I have spent hours(literally) trying to get this damn boot ani to work. I must be missing something. I know where to place the file, I have root access, I have the right file, but it does not work. Interestingly enough, I have tried 2 or 3 android market apps that are suppose to change the boot animation and none of them work. wtf

This is Awesome!!! Does this work on the Thunderbolt? Will you be making anymore RE boots and sounds/Themes? This is by far my favorite series :)

:D

If you change the resolution in the desc.txt (inside the bootanimation.zip
bootanimation-folder-structure.png
) to your screens resolution, it should work fine.
Worst that will happen is the picture will be a bit blurry/pixilated.

This is awesome, resident evil is epic. Just to be sure, will this conflict with anything if I've rooted using kuma kernel and CTmod (since there is no longer a boots startup screen idk what it would replace)?

rom toolbox pro has tons of boot animations and can resize them. I like the endless blue hall ani and the DROID logo font

kk i will let you know if it work

i do have a file and i know where to place the file and it work tho. but i dont know if i have to rename the file for poweron.wav or something.

I tried to flash it but it says 'installation aborted'.
Just to confirm, you do have the Samsung galaxy prevail right?

Can you try to flash it again? But this time, when it fails, go to advanced> show log and let us know what it says? It could simply be the zip is corrupt.

Oh, and welcome to the forums :)
