Root Restoring a Nandroid backup

Can anyone point me to a step by step process to restore a nandroid backup?
Welcome to AF KSand8808!!
I saw your post and will try to find a step by step guide for you, but it is not hard to do.
I am just curious as to what recovery you have and what recovery was used to make the nand. backup.?
The reason I ask is, some backups made with recovery "A" will not restore with recovery "B" if you have switched recoveries.

I think Ocnbrze knows more about that than I do, so that is why I ask.:)

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what recovery do you have?

it will depend on the recovery you have. in most recoveries there should be a backup and restore option. just select that and then find the nandroid backup you want to restore and select it.

there is no need to wipe anything as your recovery will automatically do it for you.

The best way to solve this is move to Smelkus recovery before doing anything. That way he can restore nandroids from amon ra or clockworkmod recovery;)

So, I would switch to Smelkus recovery asap:) There are 2 options when restoring a nandroid and you have to determine if you are partitioned or not. Once you know then...

1. Boot to recovery
2, Navigate to Backup/Restore
3. Navigate to Nand Restore
4. Navigate to HT......(where your nandroid is)
5. Navigate to the specific nandroid you want to restore.
6a. If partitioned, put a X next to boot, system, data, cache, recovery, sd-ext, wimax
6b. If not partitioned, put a X next to boot, system, data, cache, recovery, .android-secure, wimax
7. Navigate to Perform restore

That's it:beer:

Thanks guys. I am new to rooting and followed the "Rooting Gingerbread 2.3.5 Dummies Guide". So I am using the Amon Ra 2.3 recovery. The main thing I was wondering if I had to wipe anything beforehand as you do for flashing new ROMs. Sounds like I don't. Thanks Again. Oh, I should also mention that I have not partitioned my Sd card as of yet.

If I were you, I would update your recovery to the Smelkus recovery asap:). Although you aren't partitioned now, I would consider it down the road once you feel more comfortable with having a rooted phone;)
