Help Restoring Contacts from Lookout

bupolo

Android Enthusiast
So I had Mobile Lookout installed on my HTC Evo that was stolen out of my car. I just got my replacement Evo in the mail, and when I went to restore the Mobile Lookout contacts to the new phone (after I deactived my old phone over Mobile Lookout) it appears my contact were saved in some manner on my phone, but they do not appear on my "People" list.

What gives??

I'm not sure if I downloaded them to google. I'm using a different gmail address then I was with my first phone. Think that matters?

Also, when I was trying to restore from Lookout it didn't appear to be working and now I think I have a ton of duplicate contacts that aren't the complete ones. How do I delete all of these and start over with my contacts without wiping my phone?

Also, all the proper contacts are shown on Lookout's website. I've sent them a message inquiring about this issue as well.

Yes. If the phone(s) are/were set to sync with a Gmail account then all your contacts are in Gmail. If, between two phones, there are two Gmail accounts, then you'll have contacts in each account.

If it's syncing with Gmail, log into your Gmail account (from a PC). Much easier to manage a lot of contacts on line.
