Reunion of Droid Incredible mega thread

Hi everyone,

I have been itching to get a new phone and it seems like it's the same old story here on android forums. The next Verizon super phone has spawned a super thread.

I see a lot of the same old faces (read usernames) in the main thread.

How many launch day Dinc owners plan to be launch day Prime owners?

I know I am:D

I'm a strong contender for the prime, although I left the dinc after two months for the dx.

Sure is good to see a lot of the old names once again! I plan on sticking with the Inc. - until the jury (Wood & company) comes back with the final verdict on the Prime!

I didn't post much, but I sure did lurk these forums a lot. I was a day 1 Dinc buyer as well, it seems all of our 2years are up. I'm looking into this phone, vigor and whatever it is motorola seems to be offering (razr/spyder? not sure).

When we got the Dinc it was really the best of its class; no other phone had really made the jump to 1ghz processing yet. Because of this, my phone has been relatively future proof. I hope to make the same smart decision when binding myself to my next contract

i'm still trying to decide between the prime and the vigor.

my upgrade date according to verizon's system isn't til 12/29 though...are people figuring out a way to upgrade early?

I got the Incredible Launch Day, and my verizon account shows I'm upgrade eligible now. I think I got lucky and am still in the "1 year" renewal cycle for the main line of a family plan. Otherwise, I have like a 12/15 or so upgrade date, but I believe that will give me an extra $50 for a NE2.

Otherwise, I'm gonna buy this bad buy outright.

Got my dinc delivered to me 2 days before official launch. I'm hoping that I'll get my prime soon. I rarely post but always read the dinc and now the prime thread.

Yeah, Wood. Mine said the same thing back at the end of April. You can do the early upgrade one last time OR take advantage of the $50 in Dec. All us pre-order adopters of the Incredible should be done our 20 months in December. I know in the past that people have called up and convinced Verizon to honor the NE2 slightly ahead of the availability date. I'm going to try this when the Prime is released. I figure, they may just say OK if I'm less than 2 months away. Worth a shot. It's the last time I'll get that $50 credit and I'd like to use it.

really? i want a new phone too, but i can't justify spending that much extra money over waiting just under two months (if the nov 3 release date ends up being right, less than 2 months til my upgrade date of 12/29).

i'll probably try to get them to let me upgrade a month early, but if not i'll wait til december. not worth it to me to spend an extra $400 or whatever it'll end up being for a full price upgrade vs just waiting 45 days or so...

Still love my Incredible, although I quickly upgraded the battery. I learned SO much on that thread.....and now my head is exploding on a daily basis as I try to follow the discussions on the Prime.

I'm also an Incredible alumni! Rooted mine and I'm quite happy with it but you never know... Keeping my eyes open for something like the Incredible with a little larger screen and is able to be rooted.

Yeah, I know the Inc2 should fit the bill but my Inc is still running well. :D Guess I'm frugal!

Yeah my incredible took a trip through the wash, so I had to use my last early upgrade for a thunderbolt 3 months ago. The prime sounds awesome, I want it soo bad, but I just can't justify paying retail for it (and by that I mean I haven't gotten approval from my wife yet). I miss the days of the incredible shipping thread, I ended up having one of the worst waits looking back (almost 4 full weeks), this place was a welcome source of commiseration.

I bought the Dinc on launch day and spent the month or so leading up hanging out in these forums. I really want to get this phone on launch day if possible, but may have to wait until December. I was eligible for an early upgrade, but my wife swiped it to upgrade her Droid Eris and get an iPhone 4 (not S) last week.

Funny bit about that, the screen cracked for no reason on Sunday morning while she slept and Verizon would not replace it.

Was not in on the launch of the Incredible, and won't be in on the launch of the Prime. I will be buying the Prime though when my contract on the Incredible is up on 29 January.
