Robo Defense

I hate the jeeps. Oh, do any of you ever have the issue of having fast forward stuck being on. Ok, sometimes ff is on at normal speed, and when I press ff it is like blurry fast. Happened only a couple times...but through me for a loop lol.

I'm only at like level 100, but now it takes like 5 rockets from a level 23 rocket tower upgraded twice to kill a jeep.

LOVE the game though.

Wish there were more options. Idk how some of you ppl. play up to the levels you are at lol.

Flame tower seems to be relatively useless imo.


I use the upgraded flame towers at corners where the enemies have to spend 7 squares within range of a single tower, the inferno does the most damage there (I always stick a slow tower, max upgrade just before the flame, so the unit spends extra long right under the heat. while the rockets are shooting it from afar.

The key to the Jeeps is to make them "turn" the more squares they move in a straight line the farther they travel away from your rocket towers, preventing the towers from getting more than 1 or 2 shots in per tower.

once you get up to 150 - 250 range you start spending the entire game in FF and not really watching. get your "pattern" down, and get your starting cash up, so you can lay enough down before the first 6 waves go through and then sit back and watch/upgrade.

Also once you start hitting negative upgrades you probably will super-power yourself and layout the entire map before 12 waves pass through, and then set your phone down and go do something else, just checking back later.

Also, an FYI on the negative upgrades, it starts when they hit 250-300 million or so, but to take advantage of it properly, you need to get 2 in the negatives, so you can bounce the money around enough to upgrade everything you want without getting stuck with no points and some massively high upgrade costs. there is no avoiding the negative issue and you cannot continue playing if you do not upgrade again after hitting it.

I have attached an Open Document format spreadsheet with my maps I made for this game (all blank templates for you to print and layout maps on), I used it to find the most efficient map layouts for each main board (A0003 on VR gives you the basic map and the most points for winning afaik). What I did was to create 3 stages of deployment, the layout of the sheets gives you one cell per square on the map, in case the columns/rows are messed up when you open it. there are 6 maps per page, and I designate the top (held in landscape mode) to be waves 1-20/25ish, the middle maps are waves 25-60 and the bottom are waves 60-100. fill each one out with where you want to be by the end of that last wave (20/25, 60, and 100), then I totaled up the costs and quantity per type of tower for each "stage of the map" and I did a bunch of these trying to figure out the maximum number of squares I could make the ground units travel through at the lowest cost per stage. this system worked great for me until I hit the negative cap on upgrades and got greedy... now I setup 4 SAM's 4 max mortar, 2 max rockets and about 6 max slow, and plug my phone in to charge while I go do something else. it take s along time even in FF to finish the board, but I never lose 1 life. I have stopped upgrading and am trying to see what level I need to get to where I actually have to pay attention again.

currently I am at difficulty 1070 with the following upgrade levels:

the bullet upgrade, health upgrade, and flame burn are worthless at the high levels, put your money in artillery reloads (affects SAM's and mortars in one upgrade) and cash until you hit the negative numbers, then work up your damage. I use the normal gun turrets to guide enemy units in places where it is not worth putting a more expensive tower (anywhere the range goes off the screen)

I've attached some cell camera shots of the ones I made before I hit the negative upgrades. Not sure which was my preferred, but it will give you some examples at least. sorry about the quality, I don't have a printer/scanner right now, and did them in pencil (lots of erasing, and on paper, not the computer so I could work on them a bit at my old job without covering my work on the screen. :)

I've completed level 38 or so in the basic level, with starting cash, rocket speed/power all upgraded to 15+ or so. Very, very easy method from here.

With my upgrades on this level, this stops anything, air or ground. As the levels go up, the only changes necessary are upgrading the middle rows of towers, or upgrading the slowdown towers. This should last a few more levels yet without any trouble :) The alternating positions of the slowdown towers means that almost nothing can get through without being slowed for 3/4 of it's travel at least.

Bit boring, but once you've got it set up by level 65-70, you can leave it on fast forward and reap the rewards afterward to upgrade again.

Yeah I know higher up they'll easily get through it, I was snaking wqhen I first started playing but decided that at that low level it's a waste of time. Higher up it will get more fun.
 
I might have missunderstood something here... But after reading several threads about this game I have read that people seems to be able to save award points from level to level... It seems that I can't do that as the score resets to zero when I start a new map. am I doing something wrong?
 
Anybody knows how to get unlimited waves on the game?

for instance level 10 - 110 ( as in wave nr 110 )???

can not do it, unless you go reverse engineer the game and change the code. besides, if you had unlimited waves you would never get award points, as they are totaled at the end. now maybe if there was an option for a "survival mode" that would be interesting. I'll send that idea in an email to the dev.

instead of starting a new level, press the menu button on your phone and select exit to title, you can then go in and spend your award points. That part of the UI always confuses me, at the end of the game you should get a popup that gives you the options instead of having to hit menu... Also the new game button from the end of the game should take you to the board/level select screen instead of just starting a new game. I'll email the dev about that one too.

I may not be the best at this game, nor the most experienced, but I've put enough hours into it that I should be able to answer most questions. Oh and anyone who finds this game too easy should try Grave defense, I don't think it is better, but sure is a lot harder!

Robo Defense level 1130 currently, still jumping 10 levels each game and not upgrading any more except to prevent negative cash.

was playing around today and came up with a new map layout that is simple and visually pleasing! I'll attach it in a open document spreadsheet, any spreadsheet app should open it.

t this point I am making between 35mil and 45mil reward points per game here are my upgrade levels, in order on difficulty 1140.

as I've said in the past with these map plans I have been using the only upgrades you need to worry about are cash, faster rocket & artillery reload, and stronger explosives, the rest are a waste of points (if you use any of my maps I've uploaded.

fyi this is not a scan or a jpeg of the map, I actually mapped this one out in the spreadsheet.
lowercase letters are base units, capitals are upgraded once, capital and underlined are upgraded twice.
t=turrent
s=slow
r=rocket
m=mortar
sa=surface to air
steps=number of squares enemy ground units have to cross to reach the exit
costs=total cost to build this stage of the map (each map I do is divided into early/mid/late game, build the top map first, then upgrade to match the middle map, then upgrade to match the bottom map)
total cost=cost to build all three stages (if you get your starting cash up to at least this amount you can just build the end game map and skip the first two.

I like this game, really adictive.

I pased level 80 very easy, but now play lover levels to get cash. And i just kiled that f*** titan.

So far i got through with my layout but i will try finndo77 maps, it is itneresting.
And realy this is the best androuid game.

Before android i was using Palm Treo 680 and i d liked Skyforce, it was may favorite, no it is robo defence.

Android Trogan Hong Tou Tou Discovered


Android users like other computer users are open to the possibility of Trojans and viruses infecting our devices but up until now this hasn't become a reality for most users. Unfortunately, a new Android Trojan has been discovered by security firm Lookout.
This new Trojan is called "Hong Tou Tou" and is mostly impacting Chinese Android users. It is spread by attaching itself to a legitimate app which is distributed through various websites or application markets. Upon first installation the app will ask for user permissions and if granted will then perform searches on your device and send the data captured along with your device IMEI to a remote server. It also has the capability to download and install APK files that will further infect your system. If this is done it will be able to monitor your SMS activity, grab data and send spam messages to your contacts.
It has been confirmed to be found in the popular game RoboDefense as well as many wallpaper apps. If you are worried about this or future virus' and Trojans you should download and run one of the virus scanner apps available in the Android Market. Below are a few tips from Lookout on how to protect your device.
How to Stay Safe:
1. Only download apps from trusted sources, such as reputable app markets. Remember to look at the developer name, reviews, and star ratings.

2. Always check the permissions an app requests. Use common sense to ensure that the permissions an app requests match the features the app provides.

3. Be alert for unusual behavior on your phone. This behavior could be a sign that your phone is infected. These behaviors may include unusual SMS or network activity.

4. Download a mobile security app for your phone that scans every app you download to ensure it
 
Hi there guys. Ive played this game a lot now, am on level 130, but wanna try some fun with the game using the trainer. Has anybody found a way how to buy that thing in europe? Cause I cannot seem to buy it. When I find any link for it, it redirects me to the market and then tells me - no such thing found. Is it limited for some countries or something???

By the way, as said before - no use in buying any other upgrades than rocket and AA speed, explosive power and cash. Maybe health, but all the rest like bullets and other shit is completely useless...

It's a tower defense game where you build towers to kill monsters. There are already some other games but they have predefined paths, here monsters want to go from A to B, and the great thing is that you can build your own "maze" as to say, to form their paths and make it harder for them to make it through.

The game has great graphics, cool features and it's just fun to play.

There is a free version available in the market and a recently released full version. The full version cost $2,99.

Ah this is one of my favorite games. Even my boy is use to it to play. Nice nice game it is ..
 
Level 7000 here (yes, I encountered the "negative award" level)

Problem is, I'm playing the game now to see if it can catch up to the insane level my rocket strength is at (level 21,000). So far, it still only takes six regular rocket towers to kill everything that comes out. It's not really a game anymore, I just start it, and forget it. Takes about 8 minutes per game on fast forward.


I can't believe you actually stuck with the game that long. Honestly I was actually looking for a reset button on the game today and I came across these posts again. I'm only at level 4000 and was doing the same thing you were doing in which i'm trying to catch the game back up to the point where it is more of a challenge based on my upgrades. You went more crazy than I did going to 20,000.

What I wanted to do is just start from scratch and then just break the money upgrade and the faster SAM speed. I wanted to watch 100 towers firing at ridiculous speeds. See if my phone would catch on fire or something.
 
the new HD demo, I have not yet figured out survival mode, it skips both difficulty and wave, so first was 3-5 then 8-7 then 15-11 or some such... I'll take another look at it tonight, I've been sending feedback directly to the dev from the email the developer link in the Market place, one of the things I have requested was increasing the demo restrictions on the HD demo, since a paid version is not yet available as it is very limiting for testing. I noticed the upgrades were limited to 2 levels, I swear in the original demo you could upgrade 3 times (2 upgrades shows level:3 in the game, 3 upgrades would show level:4, because if you pay the money you "get" level 4 status and already have level 3, a new install starts showing level:1 not level:0)

I also noticed the bonus upgrades that were 500k now increase by 500k points everytime you upgrade one of them. (500k -->1mil --> 1.5mil -->2mil...)

I also like the transparency in the menus, the rotating background image (each time you load you get one of two different backgrounds on the menu screen.

I emailed in because the first version did not have a bonus at the end for how much money you had left, that has been put back in now.

the zoom is very nice to have, although it is not 100%, sometimes it zooms me when I am trying to slide the screen left or right...

So when this updated I immediately was able to pass most of the new achievements. Except Courtyard 100 I guess my towers need some upgrades most are in the mid 20's for levels. I tried survival and only got to Les Stroud so getting higher is certainly going to take some effort and upgrades.
I like that air missile towers are now cheaper to upgrade, wonderful revisions. Im re-addicted again

I can't seem to get the chain mine achievement. I set up 10 mines, enemies ran over and caused a chain reaction,and it didn't give it to me.

Hmmm, I love the graphics especially when you zoom all the way in really can see the difference. I toogle between fully zoomed in and mostly zoomed out, its a great feature. Supposedly the app knows to throttle down if your phone cant handle the higher end graphics. But I think you are saying you'd like the choice. Maybe email the dev?

I did look into spelling robo defense on screen in blinking mines, but there is just not enough spaces to do it, I run out when I hit the "s" :)


and I regularly send in comments to the dev via email, until they started on this massive update, I always received timely replies, I think they are a bit too busy right now!! I also always mention to come here and check the forum...

(when I post the extra spaces are removed from my example, but when I edit this post they are still there...)

I tried twice with the tunnel approach you used. Once with 11 and once with 13. Both times I didn't get the award. I did it with 10 straight mines and it worked. Something wierd going on there. It flashed the award achieved when it happened.

It looks like the negative upgrades are still happening, along with the switch to negative when you go over 2+ billion dollars saved.

Remember to spend your money before you get much over 2 billion, or it will go away on you.
 
finndo77, thanks. I set it up exactly like you said and I still didn't get achievement. But I set it up like that with 22 mines and I got it, lol.
