Robo Defense

This minimalist upgrade path will eventually lead you to the negative cash issue which you will then get very pissed off at, because you will need to spend money on upgrades but not only will you not have any, but you will be in debt to the game for the next 20-200 games and will not be able to progress the difficulty during this time without cheating.

This brings the question, is it cheating to fix a known issue? and can you stop at just fixing that one issue?

Well, so far, I only have 50 million points. So I don't see this being a potential problem anytime soon. Hopefully by then, the developer will remember to just fix the declare on those variables, and make them UNSIGNED.

But if I manage to go negative, I don't consider it cheating to work around that one little bug. And I really don't have any desire to mess with any of the other settings, except maybe to downgrade my weapons when trying other maps. I have yet to experience any map other than the Basic.

I think I answered your question incorrectly. Starting cash never goes negative. Once you amass 2.1 or so billion reward points, you'll finish a game and notice that your reward points are now negative. If this occurs while you're still fighting to finish games, it can be a real problem. The easy fix is to just never let your reward points get over 2 billion.

Even though the game shows I'm only earning 193 million per game, it still only takes about two or three games to flip between negative and positive reward points (I'm not spending any of them.)

I suspect that this is because even though the game isn't showing remaining health & money bonuses after each game, it's probably getting added anyway. I'm ending each game with about $146,000, and I always end each game with all of my 1084 lives left. I really haven't taken the time to look at what's happening after each game, but it seems like I'm getting about a billion points per game.

I meant my starting cash reward is level 47 and it takes 109million to get to the next level. I thought if you get to a high enough level you get "negative" rewards?

I think another poster mentioned that it occured for him around level 53. I didn't really pay attention to what power level I was at. I know for me the negative rewards started at or around game level 1400.

Before the negative awards, while I was playing the game normally, I tried to keep the rocket power, rocket speed, and AA speed equal. I always upgraded as soon as I had enough points.

My starting cash level is now at 28,014.....it takes a while to tap a screen 28,000 times;)

The negative glitch happens when the upgrade cost gets to around 425 million. I've only done it with the Stronger Explosives upgrade which happened at level 49. The Starting Cash upgrade should happen at level 54.

i am a new user, how shall i change the map. i am already at level 62-31 but dont know where is the option to go different map? please help

Open the game.

Select your difficulty level

Select your map (up and down pointers)

Touch "Start Game!"

As has been discussed before, you'll earn more points by playing VR Training with a map code of A0003, than you would playing in the Basic map. The map is the same, it's just easier to visualize the layout when it's a grid.

Hey finndo77, thanks for the tips. Sorry for the late reply, been away for a while. I've learned how useful artillery can be, though I don't quite understand what you meant by the @ formation? Is it a spiral with the artillery in the middle? But that could take up a lot of space that I would need for Antiair.

My latest stats: Lvl 37 Stronger Explosives; Lvl 38 Rocket Reload; Lvl 41 Antiair Reload; Lvl 35 Artillery Reload; Lvl 31 Slowdown; Lvl 41 Health; Lvl 38 Starting Cash. Finally got all 83 achievements.

I just found a map layout that lets me get Perfect Game on Survival Mode with patience and care. No rockets! Just Antiair and Artillery, see the attached map. S=slow; A=antiair; M=artillery; T=teleport; G=gun turrets. 55 Antiair Missile launchers might seem like an overkill but I need them to survive far above my usual level.

The trick is to juggle land units back and forth along the route using the three gun turrets marked Yellow, Green and Magenta. I call them 'gates' because they regulate traffic. ;) Basically, I build a turret when I need to close a gate, and sell it when I need to re-open the gate.

Yellow is usually open. Green is open until the first unit reaches it and then I close it. This makes the whole column reverse and go the other way. When it reaches the Orange square at the lower left, I open the Green gate again, so the column reverses again. This makes the land units move back and forth through the long 'valley of death' lined with artillery. :D Sometimes I let the column get past the orange square, then when they reach Yellow, I open Green and close Yellow.

Magenta is closed except when I get a whole row of flying saucers. When this happens, I close both Yellow and Green, open Magenta, then I replace the Cyan T with a block. This way, the saucers can't drop soldiers and I can keep re-arming the Ts and eventually kill the whole row.

So far, this map layout has allowed me to survive at much higher levels than my upgrades would normally allow.

Anyway, thanks to this thread I found out that you could use the VR A0003 map which gives much a higher score than the Basic Map, making my farming more efficient. That's a great improvement. :)

just finished survival.

bullets lv 27
explosion lv 32
faster rocket reload lv 29
faster AA reload lv 29
flame lv 24
slow lv 26
health lv 21
cash lv 30

Here is map. any comments are appreciated.
*G1 opens when bots reached point 1. this keeps them going back and forth on the yellow snake trail.
*If the bots went pass point 1, dont worry, there is another trails (blue) by opening and closing G2.
*Even if the bots went pass point 2, first, open G2 and G3, then put a turret on the right hand side of G3, then close at point 4. then make all the bots going back to the yellow trail.

I don't play nearly as much as all of you, but think this is a pretty solid map, atleast for me.

R-Red: Rockets
A-Green: Anti Air Rockets
S-Blue: Slow
P-Gray: Teleport

Once the bottom back and forth is set ground never gives me a problem, and I just work on the Anti Air Rockets preemptively. If Air is a bigger problem trade Rockets close to the middle for Anti-Air Rockets.

If ground is a problem do the opposite, OR extend the teleport chain/create mines.

Feedback?

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm referring to one of the newly added upgrades that supposedly doubles the range of any upgraded anti air. However, it seems to have no effect.

It works just fine. Many new users have been calling the SAM missiles anti-air, this is wrong, sam missiles are "SAMs" and turrets upgraded to antiair cannons are "anti-air" you also have to upgrade the anti-air to their max to get the benefit ie "upgraded antiair"
Check it out!

I just received my notion ink Adam, and got robo defense on it. starting from scratch, here is the setup I used for the first level

(will add it in a second, apparently cannot upload files from my HTC Evo)

Oh, for serious? That's weak. Well, thanks for clarifying.

Did any1 figure out best code combination for Tower Mix Mode?

00006 is for saving $14 7 $10 on Surface 2 Air upgrades but say goodbye to mortal/artillery because of 1 step radius.

The Titan first shows up lvl 25 you need to go 79 rounds in a row without letting an enemy cross the finish for him to show up

Try 00202

Rockets are fast and strong.

Prices are same as original.

April Fools? or is there a new part to the update that I am blind to?

Thanks

I just used 39445. It gave cheaper rocket upgrades with a range of 5 blocks and SAMs have a range of 6. On the downside artillery range is 2. Worked good for the new roadway map.

30202 is better than 00202.

Just tried 39445 and even though 30202 has a lower range on rockets and is slightly more expensive, it has faster rate of firing and is stronger rockets. I consider 30202 to be better.

I love rockets.....

The way I test each code is to put one rocket tower in the middle of the screen, play the survival mode and see how many levels it can go before letting an enemy get to the end.

best set up with tower mix code 81696 rockets cost 31 but fire faster gun turrents gain an extra square slow tower loses one but cost 8

beat level 300 with bullets at lvl 31 explosives at lvl 36 rocket reload at lvl 38 antiair reload at lvl 34 slowdown at lvl 31 cash at lvl 37
