Roger evolves into a full voice communication platform with Amazon Alexa integration

Roger debuted as a simple Walkie Talkie app, but today it evolves into something much bigger. The developers have introduced a whole new voice-enabled platform which integrates third-party services.

The biggest new feature is Amazon Alexa support, so you can place orders, control your smart home, check your daily calendar and more on your smartphone. This isn't the first app-only Amazon Alexa solution, but this is the first time you can get it in a free app, as Lexi costs $5.

Other integrations include Slack, Dropbox and IFTTT, and with an open API the developer is making it easy for others to hook into the app, as well.
