This is NOT my work!!! Originally posted by Notta on XDA and Evolutionmods is going to be the one maintaining it. For the most up to date information check out the XDA thread here: [ROM][08.28.2012][AOKP/4.1.1] UNOFFICIAL Build 1 - xda-developers

This is based on of the same base as paranoidandroid, so expect the same bugs.

I have Been running this Rom since last night and it is very smooth, simple and over all very much a daily driver. If you are coming from Notta's PA Rom you will notice the same issues with what works and vice versa ;)

What Works
Code:
4G
Phone
MMS
Camera works but video is stil borked
Front camera
This and that

What Doesn't Work
Code:
process.com.android.phone F/C's in the beginning but goes away.
Camcorder makes gallery F/C
video

Enjoy!

Where is the play store? Plus it didn't have me add my Google account and I'm not really sure how to so it will pull the contacts.

I checked it out and wondered if it would need a Gapps file. Didn't see one in the OP to download. I think it needs one and that is your problem with store and not asking you to set up account.

Now, where is a good one to dl, I don't know yet. :)

There's one linked in the OP of the CM10 thread on XDA. I'll post it up in a little while, I'm on my phone right now and it's just too much work. :p

Cool. I went to the Google Apps Package link in our all things root sticky but there are a million of them there and i didn't know which would be the right one.

I flashed this rom and the gapps that I linked to and it came up and is a really fast, slick looking rom.

The gps did not work for me though so I decided to go back to a previously made nand. As is usual for me with these aosp or Jb roms, I can not restore a nand from it. I end up having to do the 10 second power down with vol down, then release power, to get into the bootloader. then I select recovery and have to actually flash a rom to get myself back in business.

I didn't wipe anything, just flashed MeanRom. It came up well, but it freaks me out. It comes up all set up and the google account active. It has the screens set up like I had them in the Mik rom I was running before I flashed this rom.

I don't get these circumstances at all. How come I can't just restore a nand? Could it be because I don't have Boot selected to copy when I make nands in the first place? I will have to try this and see.

How come when I flash a different rom from scratch, it shows up set up and activated already???

Was on the Mik rom. i wiped all but sd cards and system, including doing a factory refresh, before installing this rom. it booted and i installed some apps.

Afterwards i went to restore a nand. No wipes it got stuck at the screen with HTC and Beats audio on it.

Rebooted, same deal. got into recovery as mentioned, wiped nothing, flashed Meanrom I had on external sd card. It booted, came up with the way i had Mkrom setup and did not need to sign into google again.

Sounds like...

The nandroid you restored managed to restore your data. Something else went wrong so it wouldnt boot.

Then when you flashed MikG without wiping it retained the data from the nandroid.

Try reinstalling twrp.

i made another nand with boot checked. will try it next time.

this is the third version of twrp i have been on, 2nd version that has done this sort of thing.

your idea makes sense to me about how it came up already set up on flashing.

good job!

I don't know, but it seems to me you're not getting a full wipe for whatever reason. Have you tried Superwipe? Try that before flashing ROMs and restoring nands and see if it helps.

As far as AOKP goes, I will say that GPS works for me - I got an almost immediate lock in Maps. But overall, I think CM10 is a little bit ahead as far as what works vs what doesn't (video cam comes to mind). This is going to be a great alternative to CM once it's full up round though.

is it possible to have sprints visual voicemail on this rom??? I'm loving this rom. so far everything is running even better than cm10 when I had that. tween this and viper, who needs anything else???? I could easily install a third party vm, but was wondering if sprints would be compatible??? TIA

They had sprint vvm in cm10 so it should be possible

any idea on how/where to get the appropriate apk????

**never mind...I just got reacquainted with google voice....sweet geebiss this is niiiice...real niiiice **
