Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] AOKP ICS for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

These small issues with Torch and MMS aside, I am finding this AOKP ROM more stable, configurable and intuitive than the CM9 ROM. :D

Yes if you're referring to the soft keys for notifications? If/when he can enable bln support in the kernel you will no longer need it.

I've added bln support to the kernel and lib lights before but it wouldn't work unfortunately . I'll try again later today.

Is PA > AOKP? AOKP > CM at least on my OE right now...

PA is sick

I guess is it a matter of waiting for a stable PA ROM release first, yes? In the meantime, if phenomx4 can work out the small # of bugs found so far in this AOKP ROM, that would be awesome!

I don't think I'll go back to CM9 due to the problems I experienced. This doesn't give me much confidence in CM10 either. The # of FCs and issues AOKP reduced over CM9 is 100%. We shall see...

Keep the spirit of flash, boot and roll! The user shouldn't have to deal with FCs and obtuse post-flash ROM configurations to get it stable and working. This work towards getting a stable ROM working out-of-the-box on the OE for mere mortals is great!

Thank you

I couldn't have said it better! Totally agree. This is so much more smooth and stable.

Duz this have the memcard swap nd on another note tomorrow I'll try flashing a build of dark ice over this nd post some logs just out of curiosity :)

Hello and thanks for this excellent ROM! I'm getting the same blank white screen with the stock Android Browser that I experienced in the CM9 Rom with Dolphin and Stock Browser. Any tips or fix?

Are these screen shots from the latest AOKP build for the LG Optimus Elite? If so, where are these settings? These normally are located under Settings --> Wireless & networks --> Mobile Data, however, I don't see any menu item to add an APN.

Generic Virgin settings:
<apn type="mms" apn="0" mnc="490" mcc="311" carrier="Virgin Mobile US" mmsport="81" mmsproxy="205.239.233.136" mmsc="http://mmsc.vmobl.com:8088/mms?" port=""/>

Opened Voice Dialer
spoke "open apns"

Use the screen shots to guide you and there you go. Be sure to choose Save from the menu before exiting the setup screen. ;)

I noticed folks are logging issues about the CM9 ROM and duplicate MAC addresses. Is this a real problem? If so, is it present in the AOKP ROM? I'd like to update more phones with AOKP, but I am hesitant if MAC addresses are not unique. Thx

Never used Voice Dialer before. Interesting that you can use it to set up the phone.

Anyway, works now. Appreciate the clarification.

Certain versions of android have an option in Settings/Mobile Data/Edit Access Points however I've always used voice dialer to "open apns". This method is working on AOKP ICS and JB. :)
