Not sure if there's anything useful here...

just wanted to let you know that after installing the last "testboot.zip' from 10/16, almost all of my lag issues have been cured, and the system handling memory seems awesome, I seem to have more memory free more often, it feels quicker & just all around smoother to me, i do still have the slight screen tears as others have mentioned, thanx for hard work

I've also experienced almost no lag issues. I also do not experience any of the screen issues others are reporting. Granted, I do not use the stock keyboard (use Swiftkey) and I do not use stock lockscreen (use Widget Locker).

The only issue I currently have is the SMS messages do not split automatically, therefore, any text message over 160 doesn't send.

I cannot reproduce the 160 split issue. In fact I just sent a test message that split itself into 5 parts. You sure you have SMS split set in the messenger menu?

Has anyone else run into this issue... my display brightness will not change when I try to change it, I have to wait until it locks or sleeps or manually lock it..then its changed when I wake it again whats weird is that it does that with ANY app or widget I try to use I've downloaded tons of apps and Widgets to test and its same with all of them... any ideas???

Haven't encountered this although I haven't used an ICS rom in awhile

after looking back thru the comments I noticed that most users don't have any problems with the MMS working on this AOKP ICS rom. It worked fine for me on the CM9 version, but when I changed over to this AOKP version my picture messaging stopped working all together. I've tried the MMS that comes with this Rom, I have also installed other MMS apk's to test with no luck.
It just won't send a picture message at all. It just sits, saying "Sending" and that's about it.
I was hoping that someone could give me some hints to how I can fix this, or is there another MMS.apk I can install that will get the picture messaging working? Any help is greatly appreciated....

and by the way.. @phenomx4 - to get around that issue with my display brightness not changing, I was able to install one of those "Screen Filter" apps, and now when I enable the screen filter app it in turn darkens my display to where I need it to be without having to change my brightness setting. So i'm able to "get around" the problem for now.

I noticed this as well. MMS does not work on Jelly Bean AOKP either. Please fix on both versions.

Open your voice dialer app.
Say "open apns"
Then make sure your apn 0 look like this...

If not edit it in the settings options. Save then exit.

Confirmed these settings. Must have already changed these at some point, however, MMS continues to 'hang' when sending.

I have problems with data and WiFi Hotspot as well. Never can get consistently connected to WiFi HotSpot. Chrome browser (in status area) just says 'resolving DNS' and then displays screen stating the connection can not be made. Also tried other browsers. Same result.

Regarding the mms problems I was having...I looked into the APNs info that was mentioned above & that was the issue, I went thru a few different routes of trying to fix it...like installing the APNs file for virgin mobile that was posted, setting different ones, etc., none of these workarounds fixed my problem so I just randomly selected settings in that "open APNs" window mentioned above then hit "restore defaults", rebooted and WOW my picture messaging with the roms messaging app started working fine...so I guess somewhere along the way the APNs were changed somehow
